There is a building covered with ivy in one of the streets. If you happen to pass by, your eyes will definitely be attracted by the vines on the wall. (It should be a lush green area in spring and summer🌿 This building is called Aoyama Building. It was originally the private residence of a food importer named Genjiro Noda. After he came back from Europe, he built this Spanish-style building in 1921 during the Taisho era with the design of Obayashi Group. When the building was first built, it had a basement floor and three floors above ground. Later, two floors were added to form its current appearance. Today, Aoyama Building is a combination of shops and office buildings. On the first floor is a restaurant called Polaris (I actually found this place by looking for food), and the other floors are offices for different businesses. 🥣I pushed the door and walked into the building in the afternoon, and first came to the very warm Polaris Restaurant. This is a chain restaurant famous for omelet rice. I heard that the main store in Shinsaibashi often requires a long queue. But this one in Aoyama Building (Kitahama store) is relatively less crowded, and I was seated smoothly. The lighting in the store is warm yellow, and the walls and furniture are also warm in color. There is a small row of hangers on the wall next to the sofa. I feel like this is a friendly and pleasant family restaurant where you can eat with peace of mind. The omelette rice here is the best omelette rice I have eaten in Osaka! 😋 After eating, I walked along the corridor and went around to the side of the stairs. The marble tiles on the wall, the European-style chandeliers, the winding stairs, and the beautiful stained glass are all old objects that have survived from the Taisho era. There are shared toilets and kitchens on each floor. The doors of individual offices are gently opened. Rather than being offices, they are more like a family study or workroom, and probably have less cold and oppressive atmosphere.
