In Prague, we skipped the usual crowds at Charles Bridge at dawn and wandered instead through Nový Svět, a quiet old quarter behind Prague Castle where tiny pastel houses lined cobblestone lanes. A local cat trailed us lazily, and we found a tiny café that served steaming štrúdls on a sunlit doorstep. 🐾☕🏘️ Later, we explored the hidden courtyard gardens of Vrtba, where terraced hedges unfolded like green theaters overlooking the city’s red rooftops. Few tourists found their way here, so we lingered by trickling fountains, soaking in a tranquil side of Prague that felt worlds away from Old Town Square. 🌿🎻 As dusk settled, we crossed to the Žižkov district, grabbing pints in grungy pubs where locals laughed over plates of utopenci pickled sausages in spicy brine.
