It might be quite pricey as it costs $150 for 2 pax for a one hour exclusive use of an onsen tub, but it is no doubt the best activity that I paid for in New Zealand! In your private room, there is a retractable roof which allows you to switch from an indoor to an outdoor onsen experience with the push of a button. The moment the roof opens, you will be able to enjoy stunning panoramic views of the mountains across the rivers.
