The high-speed train Abrashav connects Tashkent and Samarkand, which are about 300 km apart, in 2.5 hours. The highest temperature on the day of the trip was 42°C in June, but the air conditioning was on and the car was comfortable✨ The shaking was about the same as on Japanese express trains, the seats were wide and the seats in front were wide, and there were also power outlets. There are economy, business and VIP seats, and I chose the business seats because they were only about 1,500 yen more expensive than the economy seats, but the hospitality was amazing❤️ In addition to free snack sets such as cupcakes, there is also a hot tea wagon service⭐️ The nice thing is the on-board sales😊 A huge selection of fruits and ice cream for about 200 yen♪ I asked, but there was no beer😂 It seems that there is wine in the dining car🍷 The toilets are spacious and clean. Baby changing stations are also available. There is a conductor in each car, and you show your passport and ticket when boarding. There is no check when getting off. You can exit the station from the side without entering the station building. The Afrasyaab is a popular train, so we recommend that you make a reservation early. Tickets can be purchased 45 days before departure, and I was able to reserve easily through the Uzbekistan Railways app👍 Half of the seats in the carriages face forward and the other half face backward, but you can see the direction of travel when you select your seat. If you have a ticket, you can enter the station even a few hours before departure. There is a security check, so it is recommended that you arrive 30 minutes before departure. Both Tashkent Station and Samarkand Station have plenty of air-conditioned waiting seats😊 The stained glass and chandelier decorations at Samarkand Station are especially worth seeing✨ What surprised me was that Tashkent Station has an alcohol counter selling vodka and beer🍺 Although 90% of the country is Muslim, you can see that they are tolerant of alcohol. The toilets at the station were free and squatting toilets like Japanese style toilets, but there was a mountain of toilet paper and it didn't feel clean. (Samarkand also had Western style toilets) There was paper, but it was stiff 😅 There was Wi-Fi, so I tried to connect, but I couldn't because I needed a phone verification in Uzbekistan.
