San Francisco, a romantic city made of sea and hills Travelogue

#July Travel Support Fund San Francisco was a bit cold due to the sea breeze, but the houses spread out on the hill and the Golden Gate Bridge came into view at a glance, and I was amazed. The entire city gave me a feeling of both emotion and healing. The first day of my trip started at the Golden Gate Bridge. The cool breeze and the wide open ocean view while walking on the bridge were really impressive. From the Marin Headlands Observatory, the bridge and downtown San Francisco were visible at a glance, making it feel even more magnificent. Next was Alcatraz Island. The prison island that I entered by boat had a dreary yet interesting atmosphere. Listening to the audio guide and looking around the solitary confinement and prison, it felt as if I had gone back in time. For lunch, I had sourdough clam chowder at Fisherman's Wharf. Sea lions were gathered and resting at Pier 39, and the lively streetscape added to the enjoyment of my trip. Lombard Street, famous for its zigzag road on the hill, was a beautiful place to take pictures with its lovely flowers and gardens. In the evening, I finished the day by enjoying pizza and wine at an Italian restaurant in North Beach. On the last day, I walked around Golden Gate Park. It was a place with a Japanese garden and an art museum, so I could feel nature and art in the city, which was healing in itself. San Francisco was a charming city where the sea, hills, culture, and gourmet food come together.
