San Francisco, a romantic city that seems to float on the sea

#July Travel Support Fund As soon as I arrived in San Francisco, I felt the sea breeze and the unique atmosphere of a hillside city. The scenery of cable cars going up and down, colorful Victorian houses lined up on the hill, and the Golden Gate Bridge seen from afar showed the unique charm of this city. The first stop was, of course, the Golden Gate Bridge. The orange bridge slightly covered in sea fog was much more magnificent than in the photo, and I could feel the open ocean view and cool breeze at the same time while walking on the bridge. The view of the bridge and San Francisco from the Marin Headlands Observatory was truly overwhelming. The next was the Alcatraz Island tour. When I arrived at the island by boat, the building that used to be a prison stood there in a gloomy manner. I listened to the audio guide and toured the solitary confinement and detention center, and it felt like a scene from a movie was actually unfolding. For lunch, I had a seafood platter and sourdough clam chowder at Fisherman's Wharf. Sea lions were gathered and resting at Pier 39, and the lively streetscape further enhanced the travel atmosphere. On the zigzag road on the hill, Lombard Street, the road with cute flowers and gardens was so pretty that I took a picture. In the evening, I walked through Chinatown and North Beach to feel the local atmosphere, and finished the day with pasta and wine at an Italian restaurant. On the last day, I walked around Golden Gate Park. It was healing in itself to be able to enjoy nature and art at the same time while looking around the Japanese garden and art museum in the city center. San Francisco was a city where the sea and hills, culture and gourmet food were perfectly harmonized.
