🧵 Enchanting & Insightful Visit to Thai Silk Village, Chiang Mai

We spent a delightful morning at Thai Silk Village in San Kamphaeng, just a short drive from Chiang Mai. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the vibrant colors and exquisite silk displays. The place feels authentic and deeply rooted in Thai craftsmanship. We started with a silk production tour, which included seeing live silkworms, thread-spinning, dyeing, and traditional weaving techniques. Watching the process in person gave us a new appreciation for how much care and time goes into a single piece of silk fabric. The artisans were happy to explain each step and welcomed us to observe closely. After the tour, we explored the large showroom filled with scarves, clothes, bedding, and more. Some pieces were high-end and expensive, but there were also reasonably priced items that made great gifts or personal keepsakes. The quality across the board was excellent. We ended up buying a few silk scarves and pillowcases. What made the visit even more enjoyable was the peaceful, garden-like setting and the relaxed atmosphere—no hard selling, just friendly staff who were proud of their craft.
