[Tokyo/Kifune Shrine] A shrine where you can meet the well-built Hotei

Founded by Fujiwara Isehito in the second year of the Wadou era during the reign of Emperor Genmei. It is the guardian deity of Shinagawa Ward. There is a huge statue of Hotei beside the torii gate. It used to be located in the Kokusai Motors building. The statue was erected by the late Hatano Genji, founder of Kokusai Motors, as a cornerstone of the company's fortunes. It was then moved to Kifune Shrine when the building was relocated. Its well-built figure gives off an air of divine favor.
