Saint-Paul-de-Vence, a hilltop town in Provence where the artists’ breath still remains

#July Travel Support Fund Saint-Paul-de-Vence is a place close to Nice, but it was a completely different world. The moment you entered the town surrounded by walls, you could feel the quiet medieval atmosphere created by the stone walls and alleys. As you walked through the narrow and winding alleys, small galleries, workshops, and ateliers followed. Various works of art, such as glassworks, sculptures, and paintings, were naturally blended with the town, so the walk itself felt like walking through an art gallery. It was a space full of inspiration, so much so that you could immediately understand that artists such as Chagall, Picasso, and Matisse stayed here. The Fondation Maggh Museum was a must-see in Saint-Paul-de-Vence. The architecture and nature were one, and the sculptures displayed in the outdoor garden felt like part of the town. The view of the hills and the Mediterranean Sea from the museum was breathtaking. From the observation deck, you could see Nice and the sea at a glance. The view with the warm Provençal breeze was simply peaceful. It was perfect until the time I finished with a glass of wine, olives, and cheese at a small cafe under the ramparts. Saint-Paul-de-Vence is not a tourist attraction that you can see quickly, but a town that you have to feel while walking slowly.
