[Ikebukuro's most iconic building] Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre

It is located right next to JR Ikebukuro West Exit Station. It is easy to find as it is a large building next to Toshima Ward Ikebukuro West Exit Park. It is directly connected to the underground passageway 2b exit of the station, so you can go there without going above ground. The Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre was opened in October 1990 as an art and culture facility by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government to promote art and culture such as music, theater, opera, and dance for Tokyo residents and to promote international exchange. The main hall is said to have one of the largest pipe organs in the world. The building is very spacious, with two basement floors and seven floors above ground.
