Ueno Ameyokocho: A Street with Everything You Need to Know

Ameyokocho is a great place to stay. It's very convenient for food, clothing, housing, transportation, and entertainment. It's close to Ueno JR Station and Okachimachi Station. There's also the Okachimachi Yoshiike Main Store right outside of Okachimachi Station. The building is a shopping complex with the incredibly popular Uniqlo and GU stores. Nearby are tons of delicious snacks and a wealth of drugstore/snack shops where you can get a tax refund on purchases over 5,000 yen. It's easy to break the bank here! 🤣😭🤣 🎗️Must-try: 🏆Tonkazu Yamaya Fried Tonkatsu: This place is always packed. The air conditioning on the first floor is super strong, but the second floor doesn't seem to have any, so you need to use a small fan while eating. This affordable pork cutlet is worth a try. I recommend the soy sauce ramen for a lighter flavor, but if you prefer a stronger flavor, try the miso ramen, which is sure to satisfy your palate. What's also unique about this shop is their oversized bowls of ramen, which come with two soft-boiled eggs. The bowl is bigger than your face! 😋😆 You're guaranteed to be full! The prices are also very affordable, with regular ramen under 1,000 yen and oversized ramen under 1,200 yen. They're open until 4 a.m., making it a great late-night spot.
