Hua Qing Palace after Terracotta Warriros

After visiting the Terracotta Warriors, we headed to Huaqing Palace, which is super convenient since it’s located right next to the metro station. Unfortunately, it was raining when we arrived, but even so, it turned out to be a really beautiful and memorable experience. The palace grounds themselves are impressive, but what makes the visit truly special is the hiking route that takes you up the mountain behind the complex. It’s not a quick stroll. You can easily spend hours exploring. At the very top, you’ll find an ancient watchtower where soldiers once lit signal fires to warn the empire of incoming attacks. The view from up there is stunning, and it’s worth the effort to reach it. One important tip: bring proper hiking shoes and plenty of water, especially if the weather is warm. The climb is steep in parts, and you’ll enjoy it a lot more if you’re prepared. Even with the rain, we loved it, but on a clear day, the experience must be even more breathtaking. If you have the time after the Terracotta Warriors, don’t skip Huaqing Palace. It’s a perfect way to round out the day.
