Longtan Grand Canyon trip! I had been looking forward to visiting Longtan Grand Canyon, and this experience was truly a mix of expectations and reality. Here is a detailed guide I prepared for you. Transportation-wise, reaching Longtan Grand Canyon is not easy. After exiting the highway, there are still dozens of kilometers to the scenic area, nearly an hour’s drive. Public transportation is also inconvenient. As for the scenery, it is indeed surprising. The canyon views are top-notch, with landscapes comparable to the Red Stone Gorge of Yuntai Mountain. However, in terms of management and maintenance, there is room for improvement to make it feel more natural. Regarding services, I learned that the visitor center at Longtan Grand Canyon is very small. But after purchasing tickets with real-name registration, you can enter unlimited times within a year, which is a nice option. Additionally, parking is convenient, there are many supply points along the way, and prices are fairly reasonable. Next is the recommended route. I suggest buying a ticket package including admission, boat, and shuttle bus. First, take the sightseeing bus to Tianchi (Heavenly Pool), then take a boat to tour the natural lake at the mountain top. The scenery at Tianchi is unique, showcasing its distinctive landforms. After reaching the end of Tianchi, you can choose to return by boat or walk back. I personally recommend returning by boat because there isn’t much to see on the mountain, but there is a zoo with monkeys, sika deer, and other animals. After the boat tour, continue by sightseeing bus to the canyon exit point. This way, you walk downhill from a high point, which is effortless and the scenery gets more beautiful. Finally, at the exit, there is a fork with signs for the uphill path and downhill path. The uphill path is a walk down the canyon, while the downhill path is via a glass slide. If you want to choose the glass slide, the scenic area does guide you toward it. But actually, you can directly choose the uphill route, which is not far from the exit and offers better scenery. Overall, the canyon section’s scenery is delightful, but management definitely needs improvement. I suggest making improvements in management and maintenance, such as shortening visitor wait times, clearly informing visitors about the upcoming itinerary, maintaining scenic area roads and surroundings, and promptly cleaning up trash and weeds.
