A hidden gem for family hiking! A quiet and beautiful off-the-beaten-path ancient village

It’s off the beaten path and great to explore, with beautiful scenery and a peaceful atmosphere—perfect for hiking with kids. I’m really afraid it will get too crowded once it becomes popular! We discovered this place by chance. We were just wandering around casually, but as soon as we entered the ancient village, we were captivated! The mountain hiking trails here are very comfortable to walk on, not too difficult, and there aren’t many people—mostly tourists—so it’s never crowded, making the experience fantastic~ The Thousand Steps Stairway is super friendly for kids; no pressure at all to walk it with children. The kids climbed happily on their own and enjoyed the ancient village scenery along the way. Every photo you take looks great! 📸 The village is especially cool and never stuffy. The villagers are very warm and chat with us as we pass by, which feels very welcoming~ Starting every October, the village hosts a harvest drying season, with all kinds of crops hanging in the yards and under the eaves. The colors are especially beautiful, definitely another stunning sight. I’m already looking forward to autumn! 📍 Hiking location: Yongjia Linkeng Ancient Village 🧗🏻‍♀️ Mountain trail: Walk into the village and take the left to find the Thousand Steps Stairway. Keep climbing up—there are surprises all along the way. Don’t miss it! ✅ There is a large parking lot 🅿️, making it very convenient to drive here without worrying about parking! 🧗🏻‍♀️ Hiking gear: Sun protection essentials are a must! Hat 🧢, sun-protective clothing, sunglasses 🕶️—sun protection is very important when hiking. Trekking poles and a hiking backpack are also very useful for carrying things and saving energy. Be sure to bring enough drinking water. This time I brought mineral water that tasted great, pure and refreshing, and the bottle looked nice too. When the kids got tired, a sip instantly refreshed them—amazing! ⚠️ Friendly tips: 1️⃣ For pure family trips, it’s best to come after October when the weather is cooler and the scenery is beautiful, so the kids can enjoy it more~ 2️⃣ Arriving at the village between 3-4 PM is ideal! It’s cooler and perfect for photos, with a high chance of great shots. When the evening lights come on, the ancient village becomes especially charming, creating a wonderful atmosphere! 3️⃣ Hiking enthusiasts must climb the Thousand Steps Stairway—the higher you climb, the more beautiful the view. Overlooking the entire ancient village is truly healing!
