Tiger leaping gorge

Tiger leaping gorge is a amazing place to see and go. In between Lijiang and Shangri-La about 1.5hra drive, I got a tour as couldn't drive as a tourist and a taxi there is a bit much. The river is strong and powerful through this area making for a a spectacular sight, the place is busy with tourists but you have enough space to take a photo or videos of the river. There is a lot of steps down and back up I if you can't handle it, you can pay extra to use the escalator which I found strange to pay extra for, I walked it up, overall 1.5hrs there is enough but I could watch it all day. Would be number 1 on the list of places to visit in Yunnan .#yunnan

Legend says a tiger once leaped across this narrow part of the gorge 🐅—and honestly, standing there, I could almost imagine it happening! The hiking trail was challenging but unforgettable 🚶♂️💪. Every step offered a new angle of the river cutting through cliffs thousands of meters deep. I stopped many times just to soak it all in—towering mountains above, raging water below, and clouds drifting lazily between them ☁️⛰️. Along the way, friendly locals smiled and greeted me 👋, offering yak butter tea 🫖 and small snacks. Their warmth made the journey even more special. By the time I reached one of the viewpoints, the sun was setting, painting the mountains in shades of gold and pink 🌅. It was one of those rare travel moments when words simply aren’t enough. As I looked down at the furious river, I felt tiny yet deeply alive 💫—a reminder of how powerful and beautiful our planet truly is. 🌍 If you ever visit Yunnan, don’t miss this place.
