A Day Trip to Gaolu Mountain

At the tail end of spring, I ventured deep into Gaolu Mountain in Yuxi 🌳, where a grand rendezvous with azaleas awaited me. 📍 Starting from Yuxi city, the journey to Gaolu Mountain transformed the scenery outside the window from urban hustle to tranquil wilderness. Upon reaching Laoyihei Village at the foot of the mountain, the hike officially began. Following the winding mountain trail upwards, I was surrounded by dense, pristine forests. The air was filled with the fresh scent of earth and vegetation, and every breath felt like a gift from nature. Continuing onward, I stepped onto the ancient Tea-Horse Road. The stone-paved path bore clear hoofprints worn by time, as if the crisp sound of caravan bells and the rhythmic clatter of hooves from the past could still be heard. These marks carry the weight of history, narrating tales of bygone prosperity along the river of time. 🌅 Reaching the summit, I gazed around to take in the view—rolling mountains, lush forests, and winding trails stretched as far as the eye could see. In the distance, a sea of clouds draped the mountains like a delicate veil, creating a dreamlike scene that felt like stepping into a fairyland. This day trip to Gaolu Mountain was not only a physical challenge but also a spiritual cleansing. Every flower, leaf, and inch of land here made me marvel at the wonders and beauty of nature.
