Zuppa A local restaurant in Hachinohe, Aomori
#MarchGoodPlaces2025
✓Address: 1 Tsutsumicho, Hachinohe, Aomori 031-0051 Japan
✓Opening hours: 1800-2400
✓Atmosphere/Facilities: I unexpectedly came across a small restaurant called "Zuppa" in Hachinohe, Aomori. The American country-style wooden door decoration made it feel very friendly.
The menu is written on the blackboard on the wall. Although it is all in Japanese, it is not difficult to translate it using Google Translate. It is quiet but friendly. I really like this dining environment.
✓Features: The restaurant is run by one person, with a total of twelve tables. All ingredients are sourced from Aomori, with an emphasis on naturalness and the original flavor of the ingredients, which are attentive and delicious.
We ordered two appetizers and two main dishes: pork country liver pate bread, Iwate octopus avocado salad, Aomori shorthorn beef shoulder triangles, and handmade ink-smoked wide noodles.
The taste and seasoning are quite delicate, and you can taste the chef's pursuit of belief. Paired with a glass of mellow wine, it is perfect.
✓ Price per person: ¥3000-4000 yen
✓ Rating: 4.5 stars (out of 5)
It is really a pleasure to be able to eat such carefully prepared and delicious natural local ingredients in Hachinohe, a corner of northeastern Japan. Zuppa, a delicious dish well worth a visit.

[Hachinohe] A treasure trove of cheap and fresh seafood🦀🐟✨
[Yashoku Center]
I love it💕
Fresh seafood is so cheap✨
There are so many shops, it's fun to be able to choose from a wide variety♪
I thought it was just a typical local market, but it also has a wide variety of souvenirs and side dishes, and you can eat scallop skewers while walking around, grill seafood and meat over charcoal at the shichirin village, and eat sushi and seafood bowls.
It's like a market theme park⭐️
My favorite is [Shimamori Fresh Fish]
They deliver it to you.
"I'll choose and send you the best ones when I catch them for the same price," they said, so I waited with half expectation and half anxiety, and the crabs and scallops I received were much better than I expected❤️
You can also include Matsumae pickles purchased from other stores⭐️
The best Hasshoku Center, highly recommended🎶

[Hachinohe] Beautiful ✨ Extremely popular pickled flounder bowl ✨
Aomori Hachinohe [Minato Shokudo]
No smell at all, just the right amount of marinated fresh flounder 🎶 The taste is elegant ✨
The squid is a soft type cut crosswise.
I arrived at 9:30 and thought there was not much of a line, but
I filled out a reservation slip for the day and waited for a phone call.
In the end, I was called at 11:00.
At 11:30, a sign was posted saying that the day was over, so I recommend getting up early ⭐️
💰Price per person: Hirata Zuke Donburi 1250 yen (includes soup and appetizers such as yam)
📍Location: 45-1 Kubo, Minatomachi, Hachinohe, Aomori Prefecture
Opening hours 6:00-14:00
Closed Sundays and Mondays
Parking lots 2, 6, and 7 next to the restaurant are reserved for Minato Shokudo, but there are also paid parking lots nearby

[Kabushima] Aomori Black-tailed Gulls and Shrines ⛩
Kabushima Island is located in Hachinohe, Aomori Prefecture.
You can get there by train and see black-tailed gulls.
When you arrive on the island, you can hear the cries of black-tailed gulls.
It seems that there are fewer black-tailed gulls depending on the season🐦
The sea is also very beautiful✨
One thing to note is that there are only 1-2 trains per hour,
so it's a good idea to check the timetable in advance!

A tonkatsu restaurant in Tanabe, Wakayama
I was driving to Shirahama
and saw signs for Tonkatsu Yoshihei everywhere
I guess it's a well-known restaurant around here
so I decided to have lunch here.
I had fried shrimp and cream croquette
It was crispy and delicious!!
The rice, miso soup, and pickles that came with the lunch set were also great, so I had seconds.

"Tanesashi Coast" is a well-known tourist destination 👉🏻 A good place where you can see the unique rugged scenery of the Umiwan Coast and the coexistence of natural lawns and seaside plants 😍😍
There is a 5.2km trail between Ashizaki Observatory and Tanesashi Natural Grassland… It is a walking and running route with beautiful scenery along the way😎😎
The coast is lined with natural green lawns, where many Japanese families have leisurely picnics, which is also the most classic landscape of Sanriku Fukko National Park.

This is Kabushima Shrine in Hachinohe, Aomori Prefecture. ⛩
Kabushima Shrine enshrines Benzaiten and has long been worshipped by local people as the guardian deity of prosperous business and safe fishing. The "Kabuagari Hyotan Omamori" charm is popular because the "Kabu" in Kabushima and the "Kabu" in Kabushima are pronounced the same. It is also a breeding ground for black-tailed gulls and has been designated a national natural monument. 🕊

Hachinohe is a city of books. Recommended spots!
~Hachinohe is a city of books📚~
📍Hachinohe, Aomori
.
The last post from my trip to Aomori!
The last one is a slightly unexpected sight of Hachinohe.
.
Hachinohe City is promoting itself as a city of books as part of its urban development.
I could see this all over Hachinohe😌
.
.
Photo 1: #HotelGlobalViewHachinohe

I discovered a stylish bookshelf👀
It was a cozy space.
It's a business hotel, but don't underestimate it🧐

It's said to be a base for a life with books.
The stylish facility also has hammocks😲
I read a book there while relaxing👌
There's also a lovely cafe on-site.

Hachinohe City, Aomori Prefecture.
A city that boasts one of the largest catch volumes in the country,
and where seafood is delicious🐟
.
When that happens, the market is something you can't miss!
In Hachinohe, there is a market called [Hasshoku Center]
and very fresh ingredients were gathered◎
A market like this is exciting😆
.
We tried the "Nokke Don"🍴
You choose your favorite sashimi and have it made into a seafood bowl👌
We went in the morning,
and were happy to be able to eat delicious seafood in the morning

There were many local people there,
I thought it was truly the kitchen of Hachinohe!😌

[Wandering Northeast Japan] The habitat of the black-tailed gull, the sea-friendly Wushima Shrine
[Wandering in Northeast Japan] Roshima Shrine, where you can get close to seagulls
The Roshima Shrine in Hachinohe, Aomori Prefecture, sits on Roshima. Built that year for peace at sea and abundant fishing, one of the amulets was also very popular because the transliteration of the word "wu" (kabu) in Wudao is the same as the stock pronunciation. Unfortunately, the shrine was damaged by a fire in November 2015. The original site is being renovated to prohibit visitors and is not expected to reopen until 2020. However, the nearby waterfront park can still be visited, and operations at the shrine have been moved to temporary stalls nearby.
The blessing of the black-tailed gull
The Roshima Shrine is at the same time a habitat for tens of thousands of black-tailed gulls. All the white dots in the picture are actually black-tailed gulls, can you count how many?
According to All About Japan, being "air raided" by a black-tailed gull is actually a good intention, and if you are "hit" to the tourist information office there is a commemorative plaque to prove it. However, if you want to protect yourself, it is best to wear an umbrella to protect yourself.
How exactly do you pronounce the word 島?
Many people misunderstand the word "嶋" as the word "鳩". In fact, the correct pronunciation is "岛" (dou2), which means "岛". In addition, "嶌" and "㠀" have the same pronunciation and meaning. Artist Hina Kojima is also pronounced in the same way.
Address: 56-2 Ojishakocho, Hachito-shi, Aomori Prefecture

Nearby Transportation: About 15 minutes walk from JR Hachito Line Shako Station, however the service runs about an hour.

[Aomori Hachinohe] Minato Shokudo✨
Hachinohe City, Aomori Prefecture. Minato Shokudo is located a 2-minute walk from Mutsuminato Station. It's a popular restaurant that has a line, but I came here because I wanted to eat their Hirame Zuke Don. When I entered the restaurant around 9:30 on a weekday, there were a few seats available, but by the time I left the restaurant, there were about 10 groups waiting. This time, I ordered the Hirame Zuke Don and Squid Sashimi without hesitation. • Hirame Zuke Don ¥1300 • Squid Sashimi ¥650 The Hirame Zuke Don looks delicious, but when I first tried the Hirame Zuke Don, it was really delicious. It was worth coming all the way. It's even more delicious when eaten with the egg yolk on top. The squid sashimi was fresh and very delicious. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very calm, and I was able to spend a blissful time. If I go to Hachinohe, I definitely want to go back to this restaurant. Japanese Station-Same Station
#5月好去处2025
Same Station is a local station located in Hachinohe City, Aomori Prefecture, and is part of the JR East Hachinohe Line. It is not only an important gateway to famous attractions such as the Tanesashi Coast, Osuka Coast, and the Kameshima Shrine, but also because of the special name of the station ("Same" means "shark" in Japanese), it has become one of the favorite photo spots for railway fans and tourists.
The station is small, but clean and cute, with a strong local flavor. After exiting the station, you can walk to the Kameshima Shrine (about 15 minutes) or take a local bus/hike to the multiple observation decks and trails on the Tanesashi Coast. In summer, you can also take the seasonal sightseeing bus "Umineko (Sea Cat)" to connect popular coastal attractions along the line.
There are some shops and small cafeterias around the station, and the overall atmosphere is leisurely and quiet, which is very suitable for slow travel.

Aomori-Bushima Shrine (be careful of seagull poop)
#5月好去地方2025
Bushima Shrine is located on the seashore of Hachinohe City, Aomori Prefecture. It is a special shrine built on a small island. It mainly worships Benzaiten and is regarded by locals as a sacred place for blessing gold luck, good marriage and peace at sea. The "Bushima" in the name of the shrine is homophonic with the Japanese word "stock", so it is also regarded by many people as a shrine to pray for investment luck and stock luck, and it is very popular.
"Bushima" where the shrine is located was originally an independent island, but now it has been connected to the land through artificial land reclamation, making it convenient for worship. In particular, this is the breeding ground of the national natural monument "Uminoe (ウミネコ)". Every spring and summer, thousands of seagulls fly here to build nests. It is a rare holy place in Japan where people and wild birds coexist.
The renovated shrine building reopened in 2020. The exterior is bright and the Pacific Ocean behind it forms a beautiful scenery. If you come to Hachinohe, this is one of the check-in spots that you absolutely cannot miss.
If you come here, be careful of seagulls pooping at any time. Umbrellas are also provided under the shrine to block them.
📍Address: 56-2 Same-cho Same, Hachinohe City, Aomori Prefecture

Ashigezaki Observatory is located in Hachinohe City, Aomori Prefecture, along the Tanesashi Coastline. This scenic spot offers breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and the rugged coastline of Tanesashi, making it a hidden gem for enjoying sunrises, watching waves, and admiring seasonal flowers.
The observatory is built on the site of an old Japanese military bunker and features walking paths and railings, ensuring safety and ease of access. From the observation platform, visitors can take in panoramic views of Osuga Coast, Tanesashi Grassland, and the vast Pacific Ocean. In spring and summer, the area is adorned with blooming wildflowers and refreshing sea breezes, creating a soothing atmosphere. During winter, the contrast between the crashing waves and the desolate rocky coastline offers a unique aesthetic.
Nearby, there is a simple rest area and informational boards that provide insights into the local nature, history, and geography. It’s also a great spot to pause during a hike.

Aosuga Coast in Aomori
Aosuga Coast, located in Hachinohe City, Aomori Prefecture, is part of the Sanriku Fukko National Park and serves as a key attraction at the southern end of the Tanesashi Coast. This area features a rare combination of white sand and green pine trees along its coastline. The approximately 2.3-kilometer-long beach is straight and majestic, creating a striking contrast with the rocky grassland terrain to the north. The strong sea breeze and crashing waves showcase the unique natural power of the Pacific coast in northeastern Japan.
While the turbulent currents make it unsuitable for swimming, the coast is perfect for walking, photography, listening to the sound of the waves, or simply relaxing. Visitors can also follow the coastal trail heading north, which connects to the Tanesashi Natural Grassland—a favorite spot for hikers. During spring and summer, seaside wildflowers bloom, complementing the stunning Pacific views and offering a truly soothing experience.
📍Address: Akabane, Same Town, Hachinohe City, Aomori Prefecture
