The Church of San Miguel Archangel was built on top of a former church.
Spanish Pyrenees Hike ~ Huesca (Region)
The town of Alquézar, in the Montano region, in the province of Huesca, this temple is a parish church located at one end of the town. The solidity and severity of the building's appearance are striking, as is the harmonious play of volumes and roofs arranged in stages, from the dome to the side chapels, passing through the middle level of the nave and the chancel.
It is made of stone ashlar with added brick elements, such as the doorway or the lighting lantern in the church. The doorway leading to the church consists of a simple semicircular arch with a quadrilateral porch projecting outwards in front, also with an opening in the form of a semicircular arch.
The interior layout is very balanced and simple in decoration, in the typical type of Aragonese Baroque planography, with a Latin cross plan, consisting of a nave with transepts (divided into three parts by transverse arches), the head of the nave is covered with barrel vaults with lunettes that start from capitals decorated with frieze and mutules. Several chapels open along the nave. The transept is covered by an overhanging hemispherical dome, the exterior of which is enclosed in a cubic dome.
The low choir at the foot is a quadrangular space opened by large semicircular arches (forming a body that projects outwards).
The bell tower is located in the last section on the epistolary side and it is a structure with two bodies: the lower body covers the entire height of the nave and has a quadrilateral shape. The upper layer is dedicated to the bell body and is octagonal with a hole in the middle.

* Their purpose is to provide a safe and accessible way for people to experience the breathtaking beauty of the gorge, which would otherwise be difficult or impossible to navigate.#pasarellasdelvero
* Features:
* The "passerelles" consist of suspended walkways and footbridges that cling to the rock walls of the canyon.
* They offer spectacular views of the turquoise waters of the Vero River, the dramatic rock formations, and the surrounding landscape.
* It is a very popular hiking route.
* Important Information:
* It is important to check the current status of the walkways before visiting, as sections may be closed due to maintenance or weather conditions, such as high river levels.
* It is also important to buy tickets, as there is a charge to use the walkways.
