Hotel Mir Octavio Algeciras 🇪🇸
I have to say first up this hotel is amazing ! For a four star hotel you can find some amazing rates for rooms !
I was catching a bus the next day and needed a place to stay in Algeciras for a night , and the Mir Octavio did not disappoint, the place is spotless and in a great location , I also had a room on a high floor with a balcony and enjoyed some great views.
I had a great sleep and left the next morning feeling refreshed ready for the next part of my journey …
Featuring air-conditioned rooms with balconies and free WiFi, Mir Octavio is located just 700m from Algeciras Port , ideal if you’re catching a ferry !
It offers private parking and a 24-hr front desk.
The hotel’s restaurant serves a buffet breakfast, and there is also a bar selling drinks and snacks.
Mir Octavio is also well located with Algeciras Bus Station adjacent to the hotel and the Train Station is very close as well.
Set on the Strait of Gibraltar, Algeciras is less than 3km from the beaches at San Garcia, while the border with Gibraltar is less than 20km away. Cádiz and Malaga can be reached within 90 minutes by car.

The property is close to shops , pizza Pronto (30yds away) and a supermarket 300yds away, the La Duquesa Golf is 35km away ,the Cathedrals of the Holy Trinity and St Mary the Crowned are 21km away.
If you’re catching a ferry and need to get to the Port of Algeciras it will take you 30 minutes on foot .
There is onsite parking for guests and check in is from 14:00 to 18:00 check out until 12:00.

The best way to get to know a city is to visit its city museum.
Andalusia Tour ~ Cadiz (Region)
Explore the seven rooms of the museum and learn about the history of the city. It explains the different stages of the city's history in a clear and educational way.
The exhibition takes you on a journey from the most distant past – prehistory – through the Phoenician, Roman, Visigothic, Byzantine and Moorish periods, all the way to modern Algeciras. I wish all cities had a museum like this.

The goalkeeper city of the Mediterranean
Andalusia Tour ~ Cadiz (Region)
It is located at the eastern end of the Bay of Algeciras, across the sea from Gibraltar, making it one of the most important passenger and commercial ports in Europe.
The San Isidro district is the oldest part of the city, with narrow and steep streets. The most interesting monuments include the 18th-century church of Nuestra Señora de la Palma and the 17th-century chapel of Nuestra Señora de Europa. It also has excellent beaches such as Rinconcillo, San García and Getares, although due to its long seafaring tradition a large part of its 23 km of coastline is dedicated to industrial development.
