It's a 5-minute walk from Ningyocho Subway Station. The store is small with few seats and only accepts cash. There is a row of small print under the big prices on the menu which shows the actual price including tax. Although the food looks dark, it is not too salty and comes with a small bowl of miso soup and a plate of pickled vegetables. The menu is not in English, but it has clear icons.

#cherryblossom2024 Literally am chasing cherry blossoms! We ran from the Hatchobori area along the river to Kachidoki, crossed the bridge to Toyosu, and somewhere near Ningyocho we encountered this extremely long street of cherry blossoms! Was awestruck by it and stopped to take many pics. It may be tempting to but don’t stand in the middle of the road to take pics as this may endanger yourself and others! You can walk further down the road (beyond the intersection) to take pics as the road is quieter there and still as many cherry blossom trees.

#Sakura2024 This time I stayed at a hotel in the Ningyocho area in Tokyo. I came back from outside at night and wanted to find something to eat. I saw from afar that this ramen shop was still open and there were people queuing, so I decided to give it a try! The store's ramen style is soy sauce pork bone soup base with thick noodles, and the barbecued pork is cooked in traditional style, very thick and large chunks. We ordered the char siu ramen which came with 4 pieces of char siu and it was very satisfying. The menu costs between 600 and 900 yen, and you can choose the hardness of the noodles, the saltiness, and the amount of oil. There aren't many seats in the store so you may have to wait, and there are also many locals buying takeout. "Taniya" located in Ningyocho/Suitengu has been selected as one of the top 100 Udon restaurants in East Japan by Tabelog since 2020 - it is currently my top 3 in Tokyo👍🏻 The owner, Tani, worked for several years at the famous restaurant "Morya" in Kagawa Prefecture, and his noodles are famous for their distinct chewiness. Depending on the weather, temperature and humidity of the day, different proportions of wheat and soft water are mixed and prepared every morning using the traditional foot-treading method. All noodles are freshly made and cut in the store, and even the soup is cooked freshly, which is very particular. When I first visit an udon restaurant, I will also choose the cold udon with cold tsuke dipping sauce (purely personal preference + I want to compare apples to apples). The noodles are indeed authentic Sanuki style, very chewy and elastic, with the right thickness and delicate flavor. All in all, they are very authentic. I heard that the tempura and natural hot soup stock without additives are also excellent, but I gave up because I wanted to try more udon restaurants and will leave it for next time. The front desk staff was also friendly when I checked in, and the location was perfect for traveling, so I really liked it.
