It is said that Mount Fuji rewards early risers. Compared to Lake Kawaguchiko, I prefer Lake Yamanaka. Although there was no "reverse Fuji," I was already very satisfied. There was sunrise, swans, and Mount Fuji. 🚗6:30 Hirano Lakeside (Hirano no Hama) Took a taxi to Hirano no Hama. There were swans, sunrise, and Mount Fuji. 🚴10:00 Shiratori-hama After 7:00, there's a bus. Took the bus back to the hotel and rented a bicycle with electric assist. It wasn't tiring. Cycling around the lake took 2 hours. Gave up on "the park" as it opens at 11:00 and there were already many people waiting for viewing spots at 10:00. But actually, just a little bit past "the park," the scenery was also amazing. There's no need to wait specifically. After cycling around the lake, had brunch at Denny's. In the afternoon, took a bus to Lake Kawaguchiko. A perfect day. ❗️Tips The lake bus only starts running at 7:00. To see the sunrise early, you need to take a taxi or stay near Hirano. There are swans in many places, especially at Shiratori-hama, and also at Hirano. Bicycle rentals are available from 9:00 for JPY 2,000 for two hours. Rented from an elderly gentleman near Shiratori-hama. Two hours is enough to cycle around the lake and take photos. You can choose a hotel in Hirano or near a bus stop, which is very convenient.

This really is a must-see museum in Tokyo and is part of the Ueno Park Museum complex. The Tokyo National Museum was a thoroughly enjoyable and informative surprise. As it is recommended to book tickets in advance; I spent about 4 hours here as I stopped to read almost everything. Basically, the museum takes you from Japan’s earliest recorded period of settlement and art (the Jomon period) all the way to Edo, and walks you through the stylistic changes that occurred over thousands of years and how these changes were tied to politics, culture, and economics. Some of the highlights are the history of calligraphy, the history of sword making (such as the many different parts of a sword and how they differ in style and technique from one master sword maker to another), textiles, and kimonos. #IndoorDate Hello Kitty Exhibition - If I Change, Kitty Changes - (Hello Kitty Exhibition If I Change, Kitty Changes) TOKYO NATIONAL MUSEUM (Tokyo National Museum of Art) Hello Kitty 50th Anniversary Exhibition The Hello Kitty 50th Anniversary Exhibition, which was also held in Dongdaemun in Korea, will be held at the Tokyo National Museum from November 1, 2024 to February 24, 2025. I will visit during my trip to Tokyo in December. It is located in Ueno Park, so it is easy to access. Make a reservation through an agency through Yep and present the QR code on site to enter. Japan has become convenient for visiting art museums. It was crowded in early November, but on a Friday afternoon in December, you can enter without waiting. Ueno Park is where ginkgo trees and ginkgo leaves welcome you. The giant Kitty balloon also brightens up this place. Kittika also sells crepes, but it looks like a replica with no official feel, so I'll pass. After taking a picture of the entrance, I start to tour. Photography is allowed everywhere except in the excluded areas. It's full of Kitty goods that have been released over the past 50 years. It's fun to discover what they have. Now, I'm not really selling goods, so I'm looking for about 20. The building itself is a cultural asset, so it's beautiful. The products that collaborated with Kitty are all gathered in one place, so it was worth seeing. The Tokyo National Museum X Hello Kitty was special. It takes about 30 minutes to see everything. Be sure to watch the video in between. The goods are sold in a separate space, but they're popular because they're only available here. There's a waiting time of more than 30 minutes here. I'll pass. If you go to Ueno Atre, there's an Atre X Hello Kitty photo spot, so don't miss it. The 50th Anniversary Exhibition is nothing special, but if you are a Kitty fan, you can enjoy the official goods and have the privilege of purchasing limited editions. Not just only Japanese antiques but also other countries like things from Korea, China, Egypt, Middle East, etc. The museum sometimes has special exhibitions with extra admission fees. There is one Japanese style teahouse (appearance) called TOHAKU CHAKAN inside, selling desserts, beers, onigini, and noddles, so good business. There are two or three mobile food trucks selling other types of simple foods within. The admission fee into the main museum is 1000 yen for adult. Half price for student. Can plan to visit here with Ueno Park since the museum is built within.
