Xi'an Museum is a modern comprehensive museum that integrates cultural relic collection and protection, academic research, display, social education, and garden leisure, relying on the cultural relic protection unit - the ruins of Jianfu Temple in the Tang Dynasty and its iconic building, the Small Wild Goose Pagoda. Its core area is the location of the original Tang Dynasty royal temple Jianfu Temple, and the precious and eye-catching historical relics in the temple - the Small Wild Goose Pagoda, have become the unique landmark and soul of the museum. Therefore, the ruins of Jianfu Temple and the Small Wild Goose Pagoda are not only the foundation and core carrier of the establishment of Xi'an Museum, but also an important outdoor historical exhibition area and visiting focus of the museum. The main building of the museum is located on the north side of the ancient temple ruins. The three (ancient temple ruins, ancient pagoda, and modern museum building) are organically integrated to form a unique cultural space of "museum, pagoda, temple, and garden", which vividly shows the historical context of Xi'an from ancient times to the present. Xi'an Museum was officially opened to the public on May 18, 2007.
