走遍天下XZI have always liked eating smoked and cured food since I was a child. I feel that it goes well with rice and wine, and the fragrance lingers on my cheeks and teeth after eating. This time in Changchun, I saw that there is a local heritage of smoked sauce food, so I specially found this Ma's restaurant.
This is a new restaurant. It was more than two o'clock in the afternoon and it was still full of guests. People were still entering the private room. The slogan "Ma's, a century of smoked sauce" shows that you have chosen the right place. The waiter is warm and thoughtful, the environment is bright and clean, and the smoked sauce can be ordered in two taels, and then put together, so that you can try more things.
The small portion of snow-covered bean paste is delicious and beautiful, and the squirrel fish is sour and sweet, which suits the southern stomach. It is a meal with high cost performance and good experience!

Ma's Canteen is an old restaurant in Northeast China. There were two stores next to each other before. It seems that it has expanded and has become an old store now! It is located in a residential area at the intersection of Donglingnan Street and Ziyou Road. The Northeast restaurant is lively, and every table of guests is like chicken blood, and the voices are louder and louder, like a lively market! I really don't have the quiet and comfortable feeling, but it can be there, depending on the time. The dishes ordered this time tasted good and are worth recommending! The sauce-flavored spare ribs are decorated with onions and the plating is very delicate! The taste is also very good, with a fragrant meat and a soft and tender texture! The garlic chicken wings have a crispy and delicious skin, full of onion flavor, and a bit of the feeling of old-fashioned pot-wrapped meat! The chicken wings are tender and tender, and the bones in the chicken wings can be directly detached after a bite! The cabbage vermicelli is very large, and the cabbage feels like baby cabbage! A small amount of dried shrimp is added, which somewhat robs the sweet taste of the cabbage body! Minced Pork and Mushroom Fried Rice is the main dish. Minced Pork and Mushroom Fried Rice has a little minced meat and mushrooms in the soy sauce fried rice, and is paired with cucumber and carrot cubes. The taste and texture of the fried rice are greatly upgraded! I will definitely try other dishes if I have the chance. The overall processing environment is not bad. It is a good place to eat Northeastern cuisine! It costs about 50 or 60 yuan per person.
We spent three days in Changchun, but one meal was disappointing. 💥 Everything else was quite delicious, and all four of us were very satisfied. It's a great value for the price! 1️⃣ Ma's Restaurant (South Street Smoked Sauce Shop) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 💰 50 RMB per person, a popular spot for locals, and it's definitely worth it! We stayed near Changchun Station. We played at Bingxue Xintiandi until around 5:00 PM that day, and on our way back, we took a taxi and got here just in time for lunch. We waited in line for 20 minutes and got ours! ✅ Hot Pot Base: The copper-burning hot pot with a sauerkraut base has a unique sour and salty flavor! It's also very relieving! ✅ Pan-fried buns: Perfectly savory and juicy, and there are 10 in a basket! ✅ Snow-covered red bean paste: You can order it individually, which is amazing! The dishes were large (so one per person was perfect) and slightly sweet, even better than the snow-covered red bean paste ones I had in Guangzhou. ✅ Braised Pork Knuckle: Tasted quite good, but a bit greasy (perhaps the meat was a bit fatty). ✅ Traditional Sweet and Sour Pork: Tasted a bit sour, but not bad at all. 2️⃣ Yuanshengju (Main Branch) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 💰 70 RMB per person, another famous traditional hot pot restaurant for shabu-shabu meat! The style is very similar to Beijing Tonglu Hotpot, and the dipping sauce is all sesame sauce. Shabu-shabu lamb, shabu-shabu tripe, shabu-shabu beef...all go for it! The meat was incredibly fresh and the portions were generous (pile-on). I ordered four and ended up leaning against the wall. 😅 ✅ Mutton siu mai, delicious. ✅ Sesame balls, not too sweet and delicious! The portion was also incredibly large. I tried so hard I couldn't finish it... 3️⃣ Zhuangyuan Pavilion BBQ (Main Branch) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ It was so cold that night and I was too lazy to go out. I wanted to try this place (but didn't have time to line up) and there was no takeout! My smart friend asked someone to run errands to get it for me! It was a little cold when it arrived, but it was still incredibly delicious. 🥺Roasted pig's trotter was only 6.9 for half a piece. So delicious! I also ordered some other skewers, and they were all incredibly delicious~ 4️⃣ Candied Haws (street-side) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I literally have a candied haws every day when I'm in Northeast China! Hawthorns are 5R! Grapes are 8R! Strawberries are 15R! Cheaper than Yanji (at Yanda, hawthorns are 5R, grapes are 10R, and strawberries are 20R). 💥Candied haws can be a bit of a bummer, though. I once bought a rotten grape haws. I was so pissed! Are hawthorns sour? Just how sour is it? It's like opening a blind box. One time, my bestie was so sour it made me exclaim, "Hahahahaha!" 😄 But we kept buying them the next day because they're so delicious! 5️⃣Namdaemun Korean Cake ⭐️⭐️ I ordered takeout from this place twice and devoured the handmade osmanthus cake, black sesame rice cake, and red date cake. They were all incredibly chewy and not overly sweet! The daifuku and double stuffed balls are also good. I just love snacks to satisfy my cravings.

✈️: If you're in Changchun for a layover like me, you can check out my family day trip itinerary. 📝: When I was diligently researching Changchun, I underestimated how much fun it has to offer. Changchun is more than just a layover; it's well worth a two-day stay. For example, Jingyuetan (I originally wanted to go to the Special Forces Tour, but the round-trip distance from the hotel to Jingyuetan and the kids made it too tiring), the Siberian Tiger Park, and the Zoo and Botanical Garden—these are all perfect for family trips. For your reference, ladies! 🛵➡️: Vienna Hotel (Wanda Hongqi Street Branch) - Puppet Manchukuo Imperial Palace - 🍚 Ma Family Canteen - Changchun Film Studio Museum - G54 Tram Station - Zheyoushan - Hotel (pick up your luggage and head straight to the high-speed rail station). 🌞: The temperature was around 30 degrees Celsius these two days, so it didn't feel hot. The breeze in the shade was very cool. ◾️ Imperial Palace of Manchukuo (Adults ¥70, under 18s free) 🔈 We booked a guided tour for a group of 8, a flat fee of ¥180 for a 2-3 hour tour. 🧩 This is highly recommended for elementary school students, as it gives them a basic understanding of the last emperor, Puyi. (You can watch the introductory video beforehand.) 📆 Duration: About 3 hours. ◾️ Ma's Family Canteen (Yikuan Street Branch) Lesson learned! I only ordered a few dishes for a group! I still couldn't finish them. I packed up two and ate them on the high-speed train. We were lucky there wasn't a long line. 🧩 The food at Ma's Family Canteen was excellent, highly recommended! ◾️ Changchun Film Studio Museum (Ticket required, we didn't go in, but we did enjoy a few photo ops.) ◾️ G54 Tram (If you need to ride, take the 2 yuan tram.) 🧩These two go together! Refer to my photos and check-in guides on pages 6-9. 📸: 30-60 minutes is enough for photos. ◾️There are mountains here 🧩A landmark shopping mall. The shops are average. I bought a few cultural and creative items. If you don't have time, you can skip it. 💰: Hotel 292 + meal 160 + entrance fee 70 + tour guide 50 + cultural and creative items 50 + milk tea and other items 100 + taxi 100 = 822
