晓筱语It is in a deep alley in Yuantong Ancient Town. There are no stores. You can buy frozen ones at home and steam them yourself. Each roll is small and a little expensive, but quite delicious. After steaming, shake it with chopsticks. It is sweet with a red color and salty with a peppery and numb taste.

🛑At the Yuantong Ancient Town Visitor Center, I found a map of the ancient town. When it came to food recommendations, Xiaoshu Youhua (Chinese Youhua) ranked first. What is Xiaoshu? Is you edible? I had so many questions in my mind. As I walked onto Qilin Street, I set out to find Xiaoshu Youhua! 🛑The shop doesn't follow the traditional route, as you won't find it among the shops along the street. I saw the sign for Xiaoshu Youhua at the entrance of a narrow alley. The first step to trying youhua is to navigate the alley. 🛑After twisting left and right in the narrow alley, I finally arrived at my destination. It seems this shop's reputation truly lives up to the saying, "Good wine needs no bush!" It was quite difficult to find. The shop is both a shop and a home, which saves time and money on rent. 🛑According to the description, youhua has been around since the Qing Dynasty and is a specially made noodle dish. It's a specialty snack in Yuantong Town. Only this shop survives. Xiaoshu is the owner's name. 🛑The traditional way to make oil fritters is to steam them after making them. However, the owner now uses a quicker method. They freeze them in the refrigerator and then heat them up in the microwave when ordered. 🛑The oil fritters are available plain with chili noodles, while the shredded chicken rolls are sweet. After heating, simply stir with a toothpick, and the clumps of oily dough will transform into strands of noodles. The oil is rich and fragrant. The microwave version is a bit dry, so I'll take it home next time. Steamed versions are probably even better!
