Hello everyone, I'm Xiba, who lives life with heart. On this trip, we stayed in Yunxiang Mountain, Dali. Every trip to Shaxi Ancient Town takes over three hours, unless we take the highway. Even so, our family still wants to make a trip there every week. I'd always seen the beauty of Shaxi in late autumn online, and I thought it would be a bit disappointing given how early it was. Unexpectedly, even before the full force of autumn, Shaxi still offered us plenty of surprises. The pace of Shaxi in the off-season is quite relaxed. During the day, you can explore Shaxi Ancient Town and occasionally encounter wandering poets, listen to casual street singing, and run into a few dogs working for the family—a Doberman Odin, a golden retriever named Afu, and two Labradors playing their daily game. We enjoy walking slowly, often stopping to admire a beautiful view around a corner. Sometimes, we stumble into the courtyard of a guesthouse and discover a wall covered in adorable succulents. In the afternoon, you can explore Shaxi Village. We love to just sit there and relax in the courtyard or in a cafe. We often go to a place called "Cunbianhe Coffee." Just outside the window is a vast rice paddy field, where the kids love to crawl around. The rice paddies in early autumn are truly stunning. Gazing at the distant rice paddies, the adults enjoy a cup of coffee while the children have a piece of cake—the kids enjoy themselves while the adults relax. In the evening, we head to Yujin Bridge to wait for the sunset. The sky gradually burns from a pale pink to a fiery red, and light and shadows filter through the branches. At that moment, you understand: autumn has truly arrived. Shaxi is a magical place; the moment you step inside, you naturally slow down. Whether you're gazing from Yujin Bridge, strolling through the ancient town, or quietly sitting in one of the villages—here, you'll discover that a vacation doesn't necessarily require sun, sea, and palm trees.
