黄海大智若愚Deyue Tower is located in the prosperous center of Suzhou. The whole building has white walls and black tiles, and the eaves are upturned. The three-character plaque of "Deyue Tower" was written by Song Richang, the former chairman of the Shanghai Calligraphy Association. There is a flying dragon on each side of the building, and the lace eaves on the back with cloud patterns make it exquisite and free, solemn and elegant.

This time-honored Suzhou restaurant has a history of more than 500 years and is represented by Suzhou cuisine. The Guanqian branch was also the filming location for the movie "Little Deyue Tower". It has become a must-see spot for Suzhou tourists.
Deyuelou is a well-known Suzhou local cuisine restaurant. The environment is naturally impeccable, it is very elegant and the service is also very good. The soft and gentle voice makes people feel comfortable. The authentic Deyue chicken is very soft, and the crab meat tofu is also delicious.
I still remember the movie "Little Moon Tower" when I was a kid. I must try it when I come to Suzhou. I ordered a few signature dishes and was very satisfied. The portions were quite large. Basically, everyone ordered similar dishes, so the dishes were served quickly. Squirrel Mandarin Fish, 188 per piece, a little expensive, super delicious, no bones at all, moderate sweet and sour. But there were no shrimps and pine nuts as shown in the picture, a little rough. Crab powder tofu, pretty good, you can see the crab legs, but there is a little too much ginger. Lotus leaf steamed pork, not greasy or oily, crispy and delicious. Water shield soup, very magical taste, water shield is smooth. Cold dish ordered evergreen, sweet and refreshing.
The location is easy to find. When I took a taxi, the taxi driver said that most Suzhou locals come here. Almost every table ordered squirrel mandarin fish. The two of us spent 330. My husband said it was not as affordable as Northeastern cuisine. Maybe! But when we arrived in Suzhou, it was the small pastry recommended by Tongue 2. Let's give it a try.
During the Spring Festival, I went to Guanqian Street and visited Deyue Building and Songhe Building. I found that they were all crowded. Finally, I chose Deyue Building. Let me first talk about the environment. It is really old and average. The service is also average because there are too many people and too many turnovers. The service of the waiters is average. The taste is worthy of recognition. I ordered squirrel mandarin fish, crab meat tofu, and ancient pork. The squirrel mandarin fish is really good, but the ancient pork is disappointing. The meat is too hard. I don’t recommend it.
The dishes tasted really good, and they are worthy of being called time-honored brands! The dishes were cooked very quickly, and all were served on the table in less than 15 minutes. It felt like they were all prepared in advance. The service was also ok, and hot water was provided, and napkins were charged. The price of the dishes was also very expensive, 188 for a mandarin fish, 138 for a plate of shrimp... I spent almost 600 yuan just to eat these, 200 per person~ But when you come to Suzhou, you must eat at a time-honored brand once, just to experience it, thumbs up!
Suzhou cuisine is sweet and a bit greasy after eating. I am a Shanghai native and I like thick sauces, but I still think it is too sweet, such as fried eel shreds. The dim sum hedgehog is lifelike, but it is flashy and the barbecued pork inside is not delicious. Taihu Three Whites is actually whitebait soup. This is recommended, light and rich!
