Very good, perfect, first time here, I like it very much, hahaha
I made a last-minute decision to visit Wuzhen and happened to coincide with the Wuzhen Theater Festival. 🎭 Since I only planned to spend a day, I bought tickets to the West Bank. 🎫 Honestly, the tickets weren't cheap at 150 yuan per person. Without the performances and the birdman show I was looking forward to, I wouldn't have been able to make it all day and into the evening. I entered the scenic area around 11:00 AM. Parking was clearly marked and easy. The visitor center offers wheelchair rentals and other services. If you've booked a B&B, there's easy access and a free shuttle bus. 🈚️ The shuttle bus costs 10 yuan per person. The path leading into the park all the way to the White Pagoda Temple is narrow, thanks to the theater festival. I arrived on the 21st, a weekday, but it was still quite crowded. If you're traveling with children or the elderly, I wouldn't recommend visiting on this day. It's not only crowded, but most of the paths are only wide enough for 5-6 people to walk side by side. Plus, there are always tourists stopping by for performances, big and small, making for poor circulation. Food: 🍡 (Snacks): The long-awaited pastries, rice dumplings, and other snacks were incredibly long, with no lines at all. We had to go back and forth. I passed by it four or five times and the line was always over ten people long. If you're traveling with a group, it's best to leave one person in line while the others continue exploring. Meal 🍚: The scenic area is full of inns and private restaurants. We wandered around until three o'clock and were starving, so we chose a restaurant ranked second on our must-try list (Grandma's Taste · Water Feast Restaurant). We ordered the signature braised duck 🦆, Dongpo pork 🐷, Zhuangyuan rice cake, and seasonal vegetables. Only the braised duck was okay; the Dongpo pork was flavorless and tough. The rice cake was just average; my group thought it was bland and tasteless. Performance 🎭: I was really looking forward to the drama festival itself. I was most looking forward to Birdman at 5:30, but the three-person band that stopped by in the afternoon was even better. The atmosphere was great and lively. ❕!!!!!!!!! But what was really frustrating was that the theater festival itself was incredibly crowded, and the lack of crowd control in the park, coupled with the cramped, stage-less performance format, meant everyone had to climb up and down, seeing only heads. At night, the birdman entrance was next to a pool, which was incredibly dangerous. I had to constantly lean against the trees, or I'd fall in at any moment. 😭 Overall, the experience wasn't as good as I'd hoped, but it was still beautiful to take in the scenery while off-peak. #LightLuxuryTravel #WuzhenTravelGuide #WuzhenTheaterFestival
