A very delicious Korean restaurant. I have been here several times and the dishes are very satisfying. I highly recommend it!
In Weihai during November and December, although the sea breeze carries a chill, it's the peak season for plump oysters, making beachcombing a unique and enjoyable experience. I've compiled a detailed autumn/winter beachcombing guide for you, allowing you to not only experience the joy of the harvest but also warm your body and soul with delicious food. 📍 Recommended Beachcombing Locations Location | Features & Harvest | Suitable for Xiaoshidao | A popular beachcombing spot in Weihai, with many reefs where you can dig for clams and small crabs. Well-equipped surrounding facilities. Both free areas and paid beachcombing parks are available. Suitable for all ages, especially first-timers. Shuangdaowan | Expansive mudflats, rich in clams and razor clams, fine sand, and a large area for beachcombing. Suitable for beachcombing enthusiasts who want a bountiful harvest. Jiulongwan | Suitable for beachcombing and shell collecting. Suitable for families. Jingzitou | Relatively less crowded, with rocky terrain, perfect for collecting small seafood. Suitable for tourists who prefer tranquility. Xiaoyaowan | Chase the freedom of the wind and waves. For tourists who enjoy expansive sea views: Na Xiang Hai Scenic Area offers the N+1th possibility for a summer vacation: strolling on the beach and playing in the waves. Recommendations for tourists visiting Na Xiang Hai Scenic Area: * **Families with children:** Xiao Shi Dao or Jiulong Bay are the top choices. Xiao Shi Dao has well-developed facilities, while Jiulong Bay's beach environment is relatively gentle, suitable for children. * **For those seeking a bountiful harvest:** Shuangdao Bay is recommended. It's rich in clams and razor clams; bring salt and a shovel for a better catch. * **For those who prefer tranquility:** Jingzi Tou is a good option. It's less crowded, allowing for a more peaceful beachcombing experience. 🗓️ Best Time for Beachcombing Timing is crucial for beachcombing in autumn and winter: * **Follow the tides:** Beachcombing must be done at low tide. Be sure to check the low tide time in advance and arrive about 1.5 hours before low tide. You can check the tide table via WeChat mini-program. • Weather Selection: Check the weather forecast in advance and choose a sunny day for beachcombing. 🧰 Beachcombing Gear Checklist • Essential Tools: • Small shovel/rake: Used to dig through the sand and catch clams, razor clams, etc. • Bucket: To store your "loot," a larger capacity is recommended. • Salt shaker: This is a "magic weapon" for catching razor clams. Sprinkle some salt into small holes in the sand, and the razor clams will crawl out on their own. • Safety Precautions: • Non-slip rain boots/beach shoes: The water temperature is low in November, so be sure to wear rain boots to prevent frostbite. Also, the rocky areas are slippery, so non-slip shoes are essential. • Waterproof gloves: They provide warmth and prevent cuts when moving around on the rocks. • Warm jacket: The sea breeze in Weihai in November and December is already chilly, so a windproof jacket, sweater, scarf, and hat are essential. 🦀 Beachcombing Tips and Safety Precautions 1. Observe Holes: Small holes on the beach, especially after salting, may indicate hiding places for razor clams. 2. Turn Over Rocks: Small crabs and snails often attach themselves to the shady side of rocks or hide in crevices. Turning over rocks may yield surprising finds. 3. Safety First: · Be careful when beachcombing. Avoid deep waters and return to shore before high tide. · Always pay attention to tidal changes. Check the low tide time in advance and return to a safe area before high tide. · In November, the water temperature is low. Wear waterproof gloves and rain boots to prevent frostbite. 🍽️ Post-Beachcombing Food Recommendations After a hard day of beachcombing, treat yourself to some delicious food! Here are some authentic restaurants frequented by locals: Category | Restaurant Name | Featured Recommendations | Highlights Seafood | Chocolate Fisherman's | Seafood Steamed Pot, Sea Cucumber Rice, Mackerel Dumplings | A long-established restaurant highly recommended by locals, freshly caught and cooked, seafood is incredibly fresh. Korean Food | Samcheong-dong Moses | Army Stew | Generous portions. Korean Food | Jinmi Rice Sausage Soup Rice | Rich broth, chewy rice sausage. Korean Food | Hyunhwa Restaurant | Pig Trotter Noodles | Soft and chewy pig trotters, springy noodles. Specialty Snacks | Lao Qu's Beef Soup Rice | Beef Soup Rice | A long-established brand in Weihai, the soup is rich, white, and fragrant. Specialty Snacks | Lao Jiang's Fried Skewers | Fried Rice Cake, Chicken Skewers | Weihai specialty fried skewers, the secret sauce is the soul of the dish. Selection Suggestions: · For the most authentic seafood experience, Chocolate Fisherman's is the best choice. Their seafood steamed pot allows you to taste the original flavor of the ingredients. For those who enjoy Korean food, you can choose according to your taste: if you like strong flavors, choose Moses' Army Stew in Samcheong-dong; if you prefer warming soups and rice, choose Jinmi Sundae Rice Soup. 💎 Helpful Tips 1. Seafood Preparation: It's recommended to eat the seafood you catch as soon as possible to ensure freshness. If you're unsure whether a type of seafood is safe to eat, it's best to consult a local. 2. Transportation: Weihai's attractions are distributed along the coastline. Renting a small electric scooter or driving yourself is the best way to explore, allowing for flexible itinerary planning. 3. Be Patient: Beachcombing requires patience and attention to detail. Don't expect to have a full haul in a short time; enjoying the process itself is part of the fun. I hope this guide helps you have a pleasant and fulfilling beachcombing holiday in Weihai! If you can tell me your specific travel dates, travel companions, and preferred activities, I might be able to give you more personalized advice.
