Before leaving, I saw so many online posts about avoiding Xuzhou's Europa Castle that I was completely apprehensive... About accommodation: Initially, I booked two ocean-view twin rooms with balconies. Later, due to a family member being added to the room, I had to book an additional room without a balcony. I mentioned to the front desk lady that I wanted to stay closer, but she unexpectedly assigned us two rooms next door and one across the street! (We arrived at the hotel after lunch at 12:30 PM and checked in smoothly.) Rooms with a balcony: Facing east, the bathroom was spacious and equipped with double sinks, making it very convenient for washing up with the kids in the morning without disturbing each other. Rooms without a balcony: Facing west, the rooms were the same size, but the bathroom was slightly smaller. Special note: If you have a baby, ask the housekeeping staff for a bed guard and a baby bathtub (they even provide disposable bathtub covers, which is so thoughtful!). Parking Tip: The security guard in the basement garage was very helpful and proactively helped us find a parking space near the elevator entrance. The signs were clear and easy to follow. About Dining: 1. Jiuli Lamb Soup Restaurant: I was inspired by Xiaohongshu and arrived at 11:00 AM. It wasn't crowded, and there was a small parking lot, making parking quite convenient. However, I hadn't done any research and didn't know I had to reserve a private room, so my six adults and two children were left standing at the door, bewildered. We ended up going to the second restaurant across the street. The setting was nice, but the dishes were limited for a baby, so we only managed to fill her up with egg yolk corn and chicken fillet fries. If you want to go there, be sure to make a reservation! 2. Breakfast at the Ocean Restaurant: The breakfast selection is quite good, and the staff is friendly. It's said to end at 9:30 AM, but when we arrived at 9:40 AM, the staff asked if we wanted extras. But be sure to watch your step! With so many people and kids, there was often spilled soup on the floor, and I almost slipped... 3. Late-night BBQ: Turn right from the hotel, cross the street to the Vanke complex, and randomly find "Lulu BBQ." The owner cuts and skewers the lamb freshly. While I didn't get the oil-wrapped lamb I'd been craving, the oil-wrapped liver was even better than the one I had at Lao Shi last time. About the Tour: Here's a tip for avoiding the crowds! Ocean World: Staying kids, listen up! Go in the afternoon! On our first afternoon, we didn't have to wait in line and finished the tour in two hours—it was so relaxing. The next morning, we passed by the entrance, and oh my god... it was packed, just like the Spring Festival travel rush. I was so glad I chose the right time! • Must-see: The Ocean Theater show. Enter through the middle door for a prime spot! At the start, the walruses perform on a small stage near the audience, making for a super close encounter! • Warning: It's a bit hot inside the museum, so dress your child lightly. I was sweating the entire time... There were a lot of people, and the air wasn't very good, especially in the penguin enclosure, which had a strong smell. Fairy Tale World: Go at 7:30 PM when it's relatively less crowded! Our children are both under 1 meter tall, so there weren't many attractions. However, we reserved the entire carousel and the spinning cup, so we didn't have to wait in line and could sit anywhere. If you're buying tickets separately, I wouldn't recommend it. Summary: Is it worth it? Crowded during summer weekends, the value for money is definitely lower. However, compared to other hotels in Xuzhou (Hanting has increased its price from 390 to 700!), the Ocean World package is quite a bargain. If you're traveling with kids and want to relax, the combination of staying at the hotel, visiting Ocean World, and Fairy Tale World is a good option. I'm just not going to join the summer crowds again! I was planning to go to Tianmu Lake this weekend, but now I've been told off. Isn't it nice to just stay at home and enjoy the air conditioning?
