It's a pretty good restaurant. After the Qingming Festival, we came here to have a meal. The environment is very good, the dishes are also very rich, and they have the local characteristics of Yangzhou. I personally feel that it is good and the price is relatively affordable.
This seems to be an authentic old shop. Fuchun is very famous, but now it doesn't seem to be amazing. Maybe we are eating better now. [Taste] Good [Environment] OK [Service] OK
As the reputation says, all of us thought it was delicious, especially the rice cake, three-piece buns, and crab soup buns. I personally ordered one more, the vegetable steamed buns, which were delicious. The red-boiled dried shredded vegetables were OK, relatively light. Each person ordered a cup of Kuilongzhu tea, 6 yuan a cup, which was quite fragrant. I was originally wondering why people in Yangzhou drink tea so early in the morning, which is too scratchy for the stomach. I only found out after ordering the buns, because there is more lard in the buns, which needs to be scraped with tea water. This combination is a perfect match, very satisfied, and worth recommending
Fuchun Tea House is located in Desheng Bridge, in the old city of Yangzhou, and was founded in 1885. After several generations of unremitting efforts and management, Fuchun Tea House has gradually formed the characteristics of combining flowers, tea, snacks and dishes, with excellent colors, fragrance, taste and shape, leisure, tranquility, elegance and appropriateness. It is recognized as the authentic representative of Huaiyang cuisine. Ba Jin, Zhu Ziqing, Bing Xin, Lin Sanzhi, Wu Zuoren, Mei Lanfang, Zhao Dan and other masters and literary masters have left their calligraphy and praise.
We went to Fuchun Tea House in Guangling District because of its reputation, but to be honest, we were disappointed. My husband’s hometown is Taizhou, and he grew up under the influence of morning tea culture, so he is inexplicably demanding about morning tea. We arrived at 11 am on April 30. The facade was antique, so I had a good impression of Fuchun when I first entered the door, but after entering, there was not even a waiter to guide. Tourists were running around to find seats. It was basically impossible to have a single table, so they had to share tables. We shared a table with a family of four from Beijing. Everyone ordered their own food. After ordering, we went to the cashier to pay (WeChat and Alipay were not accepted). Only cash was accepted. Moreover, all dishes related to "rice" were not available that day, so we let it go. The Beijing man asked directly, "What if the food is too salty?" The waiter replied: "You can eat steamed buns." "What if the steamed buns are also salty?" "You can eat non-salty steamed buns." . . . I wanted to laugh every time I heard it. On that day, we tasted "braised pork, blanched dried shredded vegetables, steamed dumplings with crab roe soup", and a dish of stir-fried dishes with water chestnuts, eggs, quail eggs, and black fungus. The dish was a bit salty, which was ok for us, but the family from Beijing refused to accept it and directly asked for several dishes to be re-fried. So overall, the external environment is ok, but the dining environment is rather messy, the dishes are not complete, and the taste is not distinctive. At least the crab roe buns here are no different from what I have eaten in Nanjing, Shanghai and other places.
I really like to have morning tea at Fuchun Tea House. Every time I go to Yangzhou, Fuchun Tea House is a must-visit place that I absolutely cannot miss. All kinds of exquisite and delicious dim sum always arouse my strong appetite: crab roe soup dumplings, three-diced dumplings, siomai, steamed dumplings, thousand-layer oil cakes, Yangzhou braised pork, boiled dried shredded pork, etc., are all delicious and mouth-watering.
I particularly like Yangzhou. Ten years ago, I drove to Yangzhou and went to Yangzhou Fuchun Tea House for dinner. However, there were so many people that I failed to get what I wanted. This year, I went to Fuchun Tea House again and finally got what I wanted. However, after eating, I felt that it was just so-so. The food is famous. Fuchun Tea House has a history of more than 130 years. The building is ancient and quaint, and it is worth a visit.
