Lae Lay Grill Restaurant, located halfway up the mountain in Ao Nang Bay, Krabi, is the best meal I've ever had in Krabi! Recommended: Vermicelli and prawn pot, steak, corn and crab soup. Don't order juice, the juice here is just so-so.

The owner has never had any experience in the catering industry, but he has developed the restaurant from only a dozen tables to a large-scale Fine Dining restaurant with four floors of dining room today. The chef here has also been shortlisted in the Thai Iron Cooking Competition, and the quality of the food is self-evident. I have to praise the Thai lemon steamed fish here. The chef is particularly careful to remove the bones of the whole fish. I understand that many foreign guests are not used to eating a whole fish, and they are attentive and considerate. The golden crab uses salted eggs that are abundant in Surat Thani, Thailand. The local salted eggs are a souvenir that many Thais will bring home when traveling locally. The salted egg supplier of the restaurant has more than 30 years of experience in making salted eggs. The chives and onions are stir-fried, and the crab with salted egg is fragrant enough to go with rice. Just looking at the color makes you salivate. I personally think that the salt and pepper soft shell crab is one of the best appetizers in this restaurant, and it is more suitable for a snack with a few close friends. There is no trouble of getting your hands dirty when eating crabs, only the salty and crispy garlic. The Australian beef tenderloin is marinated with black pepper and roasted until half-cooked, cut into small slices, and dipped in a hot and sour sauce with northeastern Thai flavor. The restaurant also serves whole steaks with various Western sauces. At this point, you can see the difference in food culture between countries. It turns out that Thai people usually only use forks and spoons when eating, unlike Western culture where there are knives on the table, so they are all pre-sliced. Moo hong is more like our Dongpo pork. Its characteristics are that the pork belly is bright red, the fat melts in the mouth, the lean meat is lean but not dry, and it is sweet but not greasy. Raw sun-dried yam and various Chinese herbs are added, and it is slow-cooked for many hours.

The taste is average. If you book early at the hotel, you will be arranged to sit near the mountain. The hotel pick-up was a luxury tutu car, and the return was a beggar tutu car. There was basically no service after ordering, and a service fee was charged, probably for the pick-up. The waiter knew a little Chinese. It cost 2931B for two adults and one child. The lobster was 1650B, not tasty, not recommended, Tom Yum soup was good, 250B, soft drink 60B a cup, salad 220B, pineapple rice was good, 250B.
