30 meters underground in Naples, there is an underground world that has existed for more than 2,400 years. This is the birthplace of Naples. The tour of the underground world is divided into three parts: the Greco-Roman underground pipeline facility, the Roman theatre and the SummaCavea tour. It is a highly recommended itinerary to travel through the underground world thousands of years ago and feel the architectural talent of the Greeks.Naples · 16.6 km from Bacoli

Umberto I Promenade is a famous shopping street in Naples, opposite the San Carlo Theatre. This promenade is quite similar to the famous arcade of Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan, with a cross-shaped plan with a transparent glass roof and a dome in the middle. The Umberto I promenade was built in 1887. The 56-meter-high arched glass dome is particularly beautiful against the blue sky. The streets are cross-shaped, and the ground is decorated with exquisite mosaics. Now the Umberto I promenade is not as prosperous as it used to be, and many shops are empty and lack popularity.Naples · 15.6 km from Bacoli

Mount Vesuvius

Mount Vesuvius is an active volcano on the Apennine Peninsula. It was formed by the collision of the Eurasian plate and the African plate. It once destroyed the ancient city of Pompeii when it erupted in 79 AD and is currently dormant. This volcano has erupted many times, so it is also one of the most dangerous volcanoes in the world. You can climb Vesuvius on foot, follow the slope of the volcanic rock to the crater, and in about 20-30 minutes you can go up to the top to see the crater. Because of the high altitude and the high wind speed of the mountain pass, you need to hold the railing when you reach the top. There is a special bus from Pompeii to Mount Vesuvius. The journey takes about an hour. There is a ticket office to Mount Vesuvius at the entrance of Pompeii Railway Station, and the departure point is also at the entrance of the railway station. There are not many buses, and there is usually a train on time. After the car passed through the Vesuvius National Forest Park, it stopped halfway up the mountain and had to change to a car specially used for climbing, and then changed to walking, and climbed along the handrail to the crater.Ottaviano · 30.1 km from Bacoli

Sorrento is located near the Bay of Naples, with the entire town built atop seaside cliffs. The famous Italian song "Come Back to Sorrento" sings of this very town. The song has been sung for a century and has become a unique cultural symbol of Sorrento. The 16th-century poet Tasso was also born here, and the town square is named after him. The town is surrounded by lemon groves and olive trees, and Limoncello, a lemon liqueur made from local lemons, is a signature specialty of Sorrento. Piazza Torquato Tasso is the central starting point for sightseeing. Next to the square is the Valley of the Mills, a deep gorge embedded in the heart of the city, where abandoned old mills remain at the bottom, overgrown with vegetation. The Cloister of San Francesco was built in the 14th century, with arches and columns arranged in an interlaced pattern along the cloister. Museo Correale houses medieval sculptures, paintings, and local decorative arts, while the Museum of Wood Inlay is dedicated to showcasing the wood inlay craftsmanship that has continued in Sorrento for hundreds of years. Looking out from the edge of the cliffs, you can see the silhouette of Mount Vesuvius and Capri. The streets and alleys of the old town are winding, and the Marina Grande fishing village on the coast retains a rustic atmosphere, with colorful houses arranged along the harbor.Sorrento · 31.8 km from Bacoli

Murale Diego Armando Maradona - Quartieri Spagnoli

Murale Diego Armando Maradona - Quartieri Spagnoli

4.3
Murale Diego Armando Maradona - Quartieri Spagnoli is a cultural venue dedicated to football legend Diego Maradona. Murals, sculptures, and monuments showcase Maradona's connection to the local community and reflect his influence on Naples' football history and urban culture. Located in the heart of a neighborhood, the surrounding buildings retain a typical Neapolitan style, with narrow streets and colorful walls providing a unique backdrop for the artwork. Visitors can stroll along the neighborhood, admiring the details of the murals and immersing themselves in the atmosphere of community life while understanding the status and symbolic meaning Maradona holds for local residents. Murale Diego Armando Maradona - Quartieri Spagnoli functions not only as an art exhibition space but also as a repository of community memory and cultural heritage. The works, created by local artists, combine street art with football culture, allowing visitors to experience the unique atmosphere of Naples while appreciating the art.Naples · 15.3 km from Bacoli

The National Museum of Capodimonte is located in the Capodimonte Palace. This magnificent Bourbon palace sits atop a hill, offering panoramic views of the entire city. The palace was built in 1738 as the new royal residence for Charles and took nearly a century to complete. Nestled within lush woodlands, its striking pale reddish-orange and gray facade stands out prominently. After decades of restoration, the Capodimonte Gallery Museum was added to the complex. The museum interior is exceptionally elegant, housing numerous paintings from the Farnese and Bourbon families, as well as a vast collection of works by renowned Italian artists including Bellini, Botticelli, Caravaggio, Correggio, Masaccio, and Titian. Among these, the most famous oil painting is Masaccio's *The Crucifixion*. The museum also displays other masterpieces such as Bellini's *The Transfiguration of Christ* and nine oil paintings by Titian, most of which are polychrome. The first and second floors feature many religious paintings along with a few landscapes, as well as exquisitely crafted porcelain pieces on exhibit.Naples · 16.9 km from Bacoli

Church of the New Jesus dates back to the 16th century. It was originally a palace built in 1470, which was later given to the Jesuits and converted into a church. Because the Jesuits already had aChurch of Jesusin Naples, it was named the Church of the New Jesus. This is a magnificent Renaissance building in Naples and one of the oldest churches in the city. The church's exterior is unique, featuring a pyramid-shaped facade of ashlar stones. A 17th-century spruce wood dome structure supports the arched ceiling, and the architecture itself is truly eye-catching. The interior is luxuriously decorated with marble, stucco, and frescoes. Many important events are held at the Church of the New Jesus, and many locals come here for worship on Saturdays.Naples · 16.1 km from Bacoli

Galleria Umberto I and Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan are collectively known as the "Double Galleria", which is both a tourist attraction in Naples and a shopping center in Naples. The gallery is magnificent and has the largest number of brand stores in Naples.

We visited Mount Vesuvius as part of a full day that included Pompeii and it was absolutely wonderful. As we ascended the mountain we stopped mid way for the best pizza I have ever tasted. The little restaurant (which I am ashamed to say I don't remember the name of) unfortunately had a power outage shortly before we arrived. That did not stop them from welcoming us warmly and providing wonderful wood fired pizza for our lunch. From there it was on the Mount Vesuvius herself. There was poor visibility but luckily the rain had passed and we were able to hike to the rim of the crater. Unable to see in to the rim itself because of the low lying fog did not dampen the wonder of being at the top. If anything it added to the magic. Truly an experience of a lifetime.

It is a national-level museum. This museum is also a very important visiting area. It is also very fun to visit here. The naming method of Capodimonte is also very interesting. This museum also has some very huge forms.

It didn't feel very good. This kind of sightseeing bus is a bit boring. The waiting time is also relatively long and the ride ends relatively early. If you have time, it is better to visit the beauty of the city in detail. This kind of cursory tour is rather hasty and not thorough.

It is a famous cathedral in the area. The interior decoration of the church is quite exquisite, with carvings everywhere and lifelike statues of people. What attracted my attention most was a square sculpture next to the altar. There were skulls and human bones in grids.
