KhaoSok National Park, just a few hours' drive from Phuket and Suratthani, is one of the three largest karst landforms in the world. This lowland jungle, thought to be over 1.6 million years old, is the oldest tropical rainforest on Earth. The remote location can protect the park from the environmental damage caused by too many tourists. Scientists have found that the tropical rainforest here not only has a longer history than the Amazon rainforest, but also has more interesting flora and fauna populations, including tigers. , the habitat of animals such as Asian elephants, tapirs and macaques. In addition, the KhlongSaeng River passes through the virgin forest in the park, and the scenery is magnificent and breathtaking. At the same time, every tourist who visits this place hopes to see one of the strange flowers in the world, the Rafflesia flower, which can reach 0.9 meters in diameter, but exudes a stench like carrion.Ban Ta Khun · 18.4 km from downtown

A crescent-like white beach surrounded by the blue water shimmering under the sun. As the waves gently sway the water surface, the sea is divided into the distinct colors of light blue to green. This is Samui Island. There are many beaches with clear water and white sand. The scenery is very charming. There are plenty of water sports to choose from. Compared with Phuket, Samui Island has retained a more natural and simple atmosphere. Many celebrities have chosen to spend their honeymoon or holiday here, which demonstrates the charm of the island.Thailand · Koh Samui

Cheow Lan Lake is surrounded by dense tropical rainforests, spectacular limestone peaks, and clear lake water, making it one of Thailand's iconic eco-tourism destinations. For travelers who enjoy natural scenery, adventure experiences, and peaceful vacations, this attraction is undoubtedly a hidden gem worth exploring. The lake is vast, surrounded by dozens of towering limestone peaks. Formed by millions of years of geological changes, these peaks have unique shapes. Some resemble giant rock pillars piercing the sky, while others are hidden among the forests, reflecting on the emerald green lake surface to create a breathtaking natural landscape. In the early morning, the lake is often shrouded in mist, and sunlight filters through the forest onto the water. Visitors can take a long-tail boat to cruise through the landscape, feeling the tranquility and mystery of nature. In addition to sightseeing, this attraction offers a wealth of outdoor activities. Visitors can participate in activities such as kayaking, bamboo rafting, cave exploration, and rainforest hiking.Ban Ta Khun · 20.3 km from downtown

We Take the Mission of Protecting and Rescuing: We take the mission of protecting elephants and rescuing elephants, so that those elephants from circus and elephant riding companies can live happily in our nature park. We do not harm the elephants and take good care of them, so that they can retire here happily and comfortably. Part of the ticket fee of Elephant Care Park Phuket is used for the living expenses, food, treatment and other expenses of the elephants, which truly shows our philanthropy. We are against Animal Abuse: Thousands and thousands of elephants have been living in Thailand for many decades. In the recent years, the number of these gentle animals has been greatly reduced. In 1950, there were still about 50,000 elephants, whilst today there are only 3,000 to 3,500 left. The main reason for this is clearing of woods and forests, which often takes the lives of these fascinating animals. We are the Sanctuary for Elephant Lovers: No Elehant Riding! Our camp provides various elephant activities including mud bathing, spa, and graffiti, and is equipped with showering facilities. Our staff and volunteers will kind help guests take photos for free to leave you with unforgettable moments. With delicious buffet and fresh fruit, we dedicate to offering visitors with unique, satisfying experiences.Thailand · Phuket

We took an overnight sleeper train from Bangkok and arrived at Sutatani Railway Station early the next morning. A small restaurant diagonally opposite the station offered ride-hailing services. We and several other Caucasian tourists took a 7:15 AM minibus to Khao Sok National Park in Thailand. The journey took about 1.5-2 hours and cost 300 baht per person. The minibus dropped each passenger off at their respective hotel. We booked the Three Tops River Huts hotel, located right at the park entrance. Our rooms and restaurant were situated by a stream. The hotel staff helped me carry my luggage to my room. The toilets and bathrooms were shared, requiring us to remove our shoes, but they were very clean. We crossed a small bridge to reach the park. The hotel provided three meals a day, but lunch took an hour to arrive. Entering Khao Sok Park from the main gate, there's a forest hiking trail. Without a guide, we walked 3 kilometers along the dirt path by the river, where we saw monkeys and rested at a nearby stream. As a non-athletic tourist, 3 kilometers was my limit in the hot weather. Hiking enthusiasts can hire a guide for a full day or half a day. The scenery consists of tropical rainforests, bamboo groves, and streams. The hotel offers bookings for day trips or half-day tours to the surrounding lakes, including boat rides, elephant rides, or bamboo rafting. This area is mostly populated by white tourists, with very few Chinese visitors. Those not interested in hiking shouldn't bother coming.

A nice viewing platform with a great view of Cheow Lan Lake from the top. There's a cafe, equipped parking, and restrooms. It gets crowded on weekends and holidays.

The view is very beautiful. The boat ride is not long. The view of Rama VIII is extremely beautiful at Cheow Lan Dam.

Exactly as booked. We booked to feed the elephants and that's what we did, I was just a bit underwhelmed, not sure what I was expecting but maybe to last a little longer. We were offered a complimentary refreshment once finished. Amazing animals, which are clearly loved by the keepers at the sanctuary, my children had a lovely time, so I would certainly recommend this as a family activity whilst on Samui.

Upon arrival at the camp, staff greeted us and, after verifying our tickets, we were able to interact with the elephants. The camp has restrooms and convenient parking. The staff patiently taught us how to feed the elephants and introduced each one. The elephant we fed was 54 years old and had a very calm and gentle temperament. After interacting with the elephants, the staff explained that the next interaction, the Capibala, was at the coffee shop. Our package included a drink and a small canvas bag. The drinks were freshly made, including coffee and milk tea, and were very delicious, but be sure to ask for less sugar. The Capibala are in a separate area outside the coffee shop; they are very lively and adorable little creatures. Be careful to move slowly, as moving too quickly might frighten them. Overall, it was a very good experience.
