Things to do in Dege

Well, the scenic area isn't very big. It's about 2 kilometers from the ticket office to the main area, less than a ten-minute drive. After getting off the bus, there are two routes: one for viewing the mountains on the left and one for viewing the lake on the right. I recommend choosing the lake route first. The lake isn't very large. You can walk along the stone path to the Jade Dragon Pavilion, then walk down to the lakeside and explore as you go back to the bus stop. The whole trip takes about two hours. The vendors should be managed a bit; they keep chasing after you trying to sell you things, like food.

Today we set off from Derge and arrived at Danba. Derge Scripture Printing House, Xinluhai, Queershan Snow Mountain, Kasa Lake, and the beautiful scenery of western Sichuan are no worse than that of Tibet. Especially the Derge section of 317, the scenery is beautiful, the road is good, and there are few cars. It is recommended to go there, even if you don't go to Tibet, it is worth it

Simply gorgeous! The visit went beyond our expectations.First of all, as we speak (July 2024), the place is still free to access. A car is required, as the lake is at an altitude of about 4600m. The drive from the main road takes about 40 minutes. It's thrilling.The three lakes are a natural wonder, best appreciated by drone. So are the mountains surrounding them. The Tibetans nomad families are very friendly. There is a parking nearby the lake and a smartly designed plank-walk has been built. Best to have a hat, enough water as the air up there is pretty dry.Definitely one of the top places in Sichuan, so far!

Yulong Lacuo (also known as Xinluhai) is located at the foot of Queer Mountain in Derge County, Ganzi Prefecture, Sichuan Province. The Queer Mountain Tunnel, which is now open, starts from Shangwang Post Station Road in the east, passes under the Queer Mountain Ridge, and ends at Dexing Road in the east; the tunnel line is 12.997 kilometers long, and the main tunnel is 7,079 meters long.

Manigango at 317 has a magical name. This is my second visit after many years. Compared with the last time I came here, I really have to sigh at the magic of this infrastructure maniac. Now it has become a clean and tidy art town.
