Your guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel in downtown Shanghai and take you to the Humble Administrator's Garden in Suzhou. Your day's itinerary will begin at the Humble Administrator's Garden, the largest private garden in Suzhou. It is considered one of the four great classical gardens in China, alongside the Summer Palace, the Mountain Resort in Chengde, and the Lingering Garden. The garden comprises eastern, central, and western sections, as well as some former residences. The art of the Humble Administrator's Garden holds a prominent position in the history of Chinese garden design. It represents the historical characteristics and achievements of private gardens in southeastern China. Afterwards, you will proceed to Shantang Street. Shantang Street boasts a superior geographical location and convenient water and land transportation. It was one of the most developed commercial and cultural streets during the Ming and Qing dynasties and is known as "China's First Ancient Street." You will also visit the Tiger Hill Scenic Area and admire the ancient pagoda. Then, you will head to Panmen, a famous historical landmark in Suzhou. This is the only entrance to ancient Suzhou through the city wall, often referred to as the "Water and Land Gate." Ruiguang Pagoda is an ancient Buddhist pagoda in the area; from its top, you can enjoy a picturesque panoramic view of the Yangtze River Delta. Finally, you will visit Suzhou's most famous First Silk Factory, located in the former Japanese franchise area and housed within the former Japanese consulate.
