Reviews: Istanbul: Acemoglu Historical Turkish Bath w/Private Options

We are so happy we chose this bath! Located in the Wyndham hotel we were warmly greeted and given a short history of this historic site. The service was exceptional from the front counter to the bathing to the massage, top notch facility and must do in Istanbul! Would recommend to anyone, what an experience!

Reviews: Istanbul: Traditional Turkish Hammam
Guest User2026-10-13
I truly enjoyed the traditional Hammam approach. My massaging was wonderful, even sang a very soothing tune while she was scrubbing and massaging. I received a little over 2 hours services. Not fancy, hotel like. Cl9ser to a true cultural experience. all my aches and pains were gone by the time I left hammam. Wonderful!

Reviews: Istanbul: Whirling Dervishes Ceremony in a Real Mevlevihane
Guest User2026-10-20
This was exactly the Sufi ceremony I'd been wanting to see. It's about a 20-minute walk up and down a hill from Sishane MRT station (they responded very quickly; they sent me the time, location, and important notes shortly after I booked). Seating isn't assigned; you can choose freely upstairs or downstairs, first come, first served. You should take a booklet they printed; it lists each stage of the ceremony. There's also a brief introduction before the ceremony, very concise and easy to understand. The chanting was incredibly healing. During the whirling dervish dance, watching them go from being very light and graceful at the beginning to blushing and gradually losing their rhythm, everything indicated that this wasn't a performance, but a genuine spiritual practice.

Reviews: Istanbul: Acemoglu Historical Hammam Entry Ticket

The hammam is very beautiful, and everyone who works there, from Kadir at the front desk to City, the therapist, is fantastic. The only downside is that the time spent in the hammam is really short—I think it's no more than 20 minutes. The rest of the time is spent in the relaxation area, having a tea and changing.

Reviews: Istanbul: Couples' Turkish Bath at Çukurcuma Hamamı 1831

Wonderful experience, done as a couple. Nothing will ever compete now. My female practitioner was attentive and had a practiced hand that likely spans decades. For fellow Americans that are relatively uncultured like myself, take a chance. You’ll giggle a lot with your partner after.
