Reviews: From Samarkand: Shahrisabz, Amir Timur's Hometown Day Trip

Our guide, Umar, gave excellent explanations. He shared a lot of information that I wouldn't have learned on my own. He also taught us about the customs and traditional beliefs of the Uzbek people. My English skills were insufficient, and there were some discrepancies between his explanations and those in history books I'd read in Japan, so I wanted to ask more questions, but I couldn't. He took us to a recommended restaurant, and it was a fun tour where I could interact with the other participants.

Reviews: Samarkand: Registan, Gur-e-Amir & Shah-i-Zinda Guided Walk
Guest User2026-10-18
We booked the 4-hour tour of Samarkand with Dilshod and were thrilled. Dilshod is an exceptionally kind, respectful, and very pleasant person. He explained everything to us in excellent, clear, and interesting German. His German is truly very good! At each sight, he gave us ample time to take photos and explore the beautiful buildings at our own pace. We never felt rushed. It's clear that sharing the history and beauty of Samarkand with his guests is important to him. We had originally booked the four-hour walking tour. However, Dilshod offered us the option of doing it by car for a small additional fee of €25. This was absolutely the right decision, as we would never have been able to see all the sights on foot in that time. Thank you so much for the wonderful tour.
