Lake Hallstatt
Lake Hallstatt is located in the Salzkammergut region of Austria and is an Alpine lake carved by glaciers. It has a long, narrow surface and towering cliffs on both banks, resembling a fjord. The lake reaches a depth of 125m and has clear water; it is named after the town of Hallstatt on its shore. When the water is calm, the surface reflects the peaks of the Dachstein Mountains like a mirror. It is often shrouded in mist in the early morning, and the mountain forests are colorful in the fall. A traditional wooden flat-bottomed boat called a "Fuhr" is still preserved on the lake. It has been used to transport salt and goods on the lake since the 13th century, and this boating skill has now been included in the list of intangible cultural heritage. Every year on Corpus Christi, local residents hold a traditional procession on the lake. People decorate the flat-bottomed boats with flowers and set up altars on them. The bishop, choir, and people dressed in traditional costumes travel by boat on the lake to perform rituals, a unique folk custom that has continued for hundreds of years. In addition, the clear water of the lake also attracts diving enthusiasts. Sunken ancient trees and the wreckage of old salt transport ships are preserved underwater, and there is even an underwater altar. Tourists can take sightseeing cruises around the lake, and looking back at the town of Hallstatt from the lake is a classic postcard view. I had an amazing experience visiting Hallstatt, and it felt like stepping into a real-life postcard. The village is incredibly beautiful, with calm lake views, traditional wooden houses, and mountains surrounding the area. One unforgettable moment was standing by the lake early in the morning when the water was completely still and reflected the entire village like a mirror. I also enjoyed walking through the small streets, taking photos at every corner because the scenery was just so stunning. The atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing, very different from busy cities. Overall, Hallstatt is one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited and definitely worth the trip for its breathtaking views and quiet charm.

Lake St. Wolfgang is located in the lake area of Salzkammergut, Austria. There are many lakes in the lake area. The most famous one is undoubtedly Hallstatt, and Lake St. Wolfgang is also one of the best. The emerald green lake water, the Schafberg beside the lake, the town of St. Wolfgang and the famous White Horse Hotel are all the highlights of Lake St. Wolfgang. You can swim and row in the lake. In addition, there are far fewer tourists than in Hallstatt. It feels very comfortable to vacation by the lake.
