The Church of Our Lady is located in the heart of the Old Town of Nuremberg, in Middle Franconia, Bavaria, Germany. It stands opposite the famous Schoener Brunnen and is one of Nuremberg's most iconic Late Gothic landmarks. The church was founded in 1352 and largely completed in 1361. Construction was spearheaded by Holy Roman Emperor Charles IV, with the renowned architect Peter Parler involved in the design. It was originally planned as a venue for imperial ceremonies. After centuries of change, it has been in continuous use as a Catholic parish church since 1810. Inside, high vaulted ceilings paired with smooth ribbed vaults create an open and gentle space. The interior preserves a large collection of medieval art, including the Tucher Altar and stone memorial sculptures created by Adam Kraft, along with restored stained glass windows. Light filters through the stained glass, casting a quiet and solemn atmosphere throughout the interior. Above the entrance is an exclusive imperial gallery, which once allowed emperors to participate in religious ceremonies in a relatively private space, a layout that reflects the church's unique historical significance.Nuremberg · 113m from downtown
