Poseidon
The Poseidon sculpture is located in the fountain in the center of Götaplatsen Square. It was created by the Swedish sculptor Millers in 1931. The sculpture as a whole adopts the form of a Nordic man, which is different from other sculptures in Europe. The sculpture of Poseidon holds a big fish just caught in his right hand and a large shell in his left hand. At the foot of Poseidon is a smaller sculpture, which is carved with mermaids and sea monsters. From the mouth of the big fish and from the shells, a trickling spring flows out. At the end of King Street, there are obvious landmarks that will be regularly cleaned and maintained. In front of the statue is King Street, behind is the Gothenburg Art Museum, and on the left is the Concert Hall.
