Cat Ba Island
Cat Ba Island covers an area of 146 square kilometers and is the largest island in Halong Bay. The terrain of Cat Ba Island is complex and varied, with cliffs, deep canyons, sandy beaches, tropical forests, swampy depressions and secluded villages. In order to protect this diverse ecosystem and wildlife, about half of Cat Ba Island was listed as Cat Ba National Park by local authorities in 1986. Cat Ba National Park
Cat Ba Island is home to a vast, boundless primeval forest, which the Vietnam government has designated as a national nature reserve: Cat Ba National Park. The reserve is home to numerous precious trees and a variety of rare birds and animals, making it a massive natural botanical and zoological garden. The forests of Cat Ba Island are rich in valuable timber and rare animals, such as the white-wood tree, frankincense tree, Cat Ba langur, and golden monkey, while the nearby waters are abundant in cuttlefish, sea shrimp, abalone, sea cucumber, squid, sardines, and oysters. The park covers an area of approx. 150 km², and it is home to some unique rare flora and fauna, the most famous of which is the Cat Ba langur. Although the outer attractions have completely lost their rustic charm, reaching the pristine heart of the park takes at least a full day and requires significant physical strength and perseverance. Visit Cat Ba Island, Haiphong, buy a tour to Halong Bay
The atmosphere is good throughout the trip, more than 90% of Vietnamese people are friendly (the other 10% are those who seek benefits)
Get off the plane at Haiphong, take a ferry, cross to Cat Ba Island National Park, relax for 2-3 nights
Buy a tour to Halong Bay for 700-800 baht with a delicious lunch on the boat
