Marine World Umi-no-nakamichi, located in Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture, opened in 1989 with the concept of being "an aquarium that adults can enjoy as well." This aquarium exhibits approximately 350 species and 30,000 marine creatures. It features a beautiful exterior reminiscent of a white shell. It has four floors above ground, a site area of 48,000㎡, and a total floor space of 21,400㎡. It is one of the top five aquariums in Japan. One of the most popular attractions at Marine World Umi-no-Nakamichi is the performance show featuring dolphins and sea lions. A wide variety of dolphins, including Pacific white-sided dolphins, bottlenose dolphins, and short-finned pilot whales, appear here and perform in perfect harmony with their trainers. The dolphins are particularly impressive when they jump across the pool or when the trainers perform tricks while riding on the dolphins' backs. In addition, at the end of the show, there is a unique element where the dolphins throw a ball towards the audience with their tails, making the audience feel even closer to the dolphins.Fukuoka · 19.3 km from Itoshima

Kushida Shrine has been an important guardian shrine for the Hakata area since ancient times, and locals affectionately call it "Kushida-san." The shrine is closely linked to the Hakata Gion Yamakasa festival held every July, a tradition spanning hundreds of years that has been inscribed on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list. The "Oiyama" race held on the early morning of July 15 is a key part of the festival, where teams carry Yamakasa floats weighing approx. 1 ton and run along a route of approx. 5 km, creating a vibrant atmosphere. The shrine grounds feature a permanent display of ornate decorative Yamakasa floats, standing over 10m tall, whose intricate decorations showcase traditional craftsmanship and serve as a representative view. Near the entrance stands the Kushida Ginkgo tree, said to be over 1,000 years old, with lush foliage that, together with the ancient shrine buildings, evokes a profound sense of history. In early spring, the Kawazu cherry blossoms on the grounds bloom, adding a soft spring touch to the shrine. Whether you are admiring traditional architecture, learning about Hakata customs, or experiencing local festival culture, this place showcases distinct regional characteristics.Fukuoka · 20.3 km from Itoshima

Noko Island is located in the west area of Fukuoka, about 12 kilometers away. It is a small island in Hakata Bay. It has a very long history. It is said that Noko Island has opened a defense station since the Nara period. On the island, there are "Nenggu Dream Coffee Garden" and "Nenggu Museum" where you can grow coffee beans by yourself. There are also various restaurants, barbecue huts, etc., as well as a "nostalgic street" full of old city style. Lots of quaint pastries and toys can be found on the street. If you linger and immerse yourself in this, there are also villa rentals and cabins in camping villages on the island, where you can stay for one night. The writer Tan Ichio lived in his old age on Noko Island. The natural park is naturally located at the northern end of Nenggu Island in Hakata Bay, covering an area of about 150,000 square meters. In spring, cherry blossoms and rapeseed flowers bloom here; in summer, the oiran is sunflower; in autumn, the most beautiful season of the year, a large number of cosmos blooms, decorating the island like a paradise; in winter, narcissus adds to the desolate environment. A touch of bright color. Among them, rapeseed flowers and cosmos are particularly famous, and they are known as "superb scenery" against the blue sea and blue sky of Hakata Bay.Fukuoka · 12.5 km from Itoshima

One of my favorite parks placed in the city, Ohorikoen is quite massive, making it a good place for picnics, anytime strolls, jogging, and also has some swan boats for a fun ride in the lake during daytime. If you want to chill for a coffee there is Starbucks.

This place is truly worth visiting repeatedly; each visit offers a different experience. The scenery changes with the seasons, so there's always a surprise no matter when you come. The overall pace is leisurely, perfect for letting go of all the hustle and bustle and slowly appreciating the beauty around you. The local atmosphere is vibrant, and you can feel the unique warmth and life of the place. After coming here, I realized that the best scenery isn't about crowded hotspots, but rather this kind of comforting and reassuring atmosphere. Highly recommended!

The red leaves are three-tenths red. Visiting Leishan Qianru Temple in autumn, the combination of red leaves and the temple is really beautiful. Everyone kept taking photos. I also met at least 50 Japanese elderly welfare groups who brought the elderly here to enjoy the red leaves. There are also 500 Arhats inside, which is very spectacular. When the sun shines on the red leaves, it is really beautiful and speechless.

Kushida Shrine is a must-visit shrine when you come to Hakata. You must come to see the Gion Yamakasa. Although I didn't come in July, I didn't see the big Yamakasa in the city, but I can see the Yamakasa in Kushida Shrine. Read the introduction According to the legend of the shrine, Kushida Shrine was founded in the first year of Tenpyo Hoji (757) and has been the general guardian of Hakata since ancient times. The Hakata Festival is a representative festival of Fukuoka City and is well-known throughout the country.
