The Paradise Bookstore is located in a historic church in the city center of Maastricht, so it is also known as the Church Bookstore. Amsterdam-based architecture firm Merkx+Girod designed the church as a bookstore that combines modern elements with old buildings. A minimalist black frame divides the space on three floors, separates it from the reading area from the shop, and houses a café in the area of the former poetry choir. The cathedral, built in the 11th century, is one of the few Gothic buildings in Switzerland. The stained glass windows with a diameter of 9 meters are quite beautiful. The tradition of night watchmen telling time is still followed. There are many ways to the church on the hill. It is a good choice to climb up the steps with roofs above.
