The beautiful and ancient road of Meiguan is situated at the intersection of Dayu County in Jiangxi Province and Nanxiong City in Guangdong Province. It was constructed around the Qin and Han dynasties. The section that still exists is neatly lined with cobblestone, and the road is surrounded by luxuriant shrubs as well as by cliffs on both sides. In ancient times, the Meiguan Ancient Post Road was the main road of communication between the Central Plains and Lingnan. After Qin Shihuang unified China, he attacked Lingnan in 214 BC and then built the road to Meiguan (known as the "Qin Pass"), opening the way to communication with the north and the south of the Central Plains. In winter, the plum blossoms along the ancient road are especially captivating.Nanxiong · 23.8 km from downtown

Nanhua Temple is located on the banks of the Caoxi River in Shaoguan, at the foot of Xiangling Mountain. The layout of the halls seen today was mostly rebuilt in the 1930s under the guidance of the venerable Master Xuyun. It is built against the mountain, with halls ascending along the central axis. Upon entering the Caoxi Gate, you will see the exquisite octagonal Wuxiang Pavilion built over the Life-Release Pond; the Baolin Gate hangs a plaque reading "Baolin Dojo"; the Mahavira Hall enshrines Sakyamuni Buddha in the center, with Medicine Buddha and Amitabha Buddha on either side, and the four walls are adorned with statues of five hundred Arhats, each with distinct expressions; further back are the Sutra Library and the five-story octagonal Lingzhao Pagoda, which was once used to enshrine the true body of the Sixth Patriarch. The Sixth Patriarch Hall at the end of the central axis is the spiritual core of the temple, housing the true body statues of the Sixth Patriarch Huineng and the eminent Ming Dynasty monks Hanshan Deqing and Dantian, who are depicted sitting in the lotus position, having remained for a thousand years. The temple also preserves cultural relics such as the Tang Dynasty Thousand-Buddha Kasaya and the imperial edict bestowed by Empress Wu Zetian. A small path behind the temple leads through Feixi Bridge and Fuhu Pavilion to the Zhuoxi Spring, where the water is clear and sweet all year round; on the west side, there is also the Wujin Nunnery and the Relic Pagoda of the venerable Master Xuyun.Shaoguan · 18.7 km from downtown

The scenery at the mountaintop was beautiful. Since we had stayed at a mountain resort before, our package ticket allowed us to enter the park twice, so we were able to experience all the attractions. The glass bridge and waterfall are among the best in the province – thumbs up! The roller coaster ride was an excellent experience. We'll definitely come back sometime.

This was our first time visiting this scenic area. The bamboo rafting experience in the canyon wasn't great; there weren't many eye-catching spots along the way, but the Fairy Gate was quite nice.

There aren't many people early in the morning, and it's foggy. It gets busier once the fog clears. It's a great choice for families to visit, relax, or camp. You can drive or take public transport; there are many options. It's a seasonal attraction, so choose your time carefully.

Looking for a less-traveled destination with historical significance and hiking opportunities this weekend? The Meiguan Ancient Road in Dayu, Jiangxi is highly recommended! This ancient post road has been around for a thousand years, and after completing the hike, you can enjoy panoramic views of the county town from the mountaintop.

With relatively low foot traffic, newly built internal alleyways, and significant business loss, the interior environment is quite quiet and refreshing when there are few people; it can be considered a park with a lake. A complete walk around it takes less than an hour.

The Sixth Patriarch Huineng's footprints involved three temples in total. I have been to Xinxing Guo'en Temple and Guangzhou Guangxiao Temple before. I have always wanted to visit Nanhua Temple. This time I finally got my wish. Before I came, I knew that the Sixth Patriarch's body was enshrined here. It is an important temple of the Southern Zen Sect. Nanhua Temple is one of the famous Buddhist temples in China.

The only downside is that the two mountains are too far apart. After climbing Elder Peak, I simply didn't have the energy to climb the other one. If they were connected, I would have had the motivation, but having to descend one mountain and then walk the other to climb the other one made it impossible to move.

Unexpectedly, such a fairyland is hidden deep in the mountains of Shaoguan, Guangdong. Various waterfalls gently cascade into emerald pools, creating a picturesque scene in the rain; the most special is the Tenglong Waterfall, over 200 meters high, which plunges down from the sky, a truly magnificent sight! If the facilities were a bit better, it would definitely be a popular tourist attraction…
