It's located in the city center of Takaoka, Toyama Prefecture, about a 15-minute walk from Takaoka Station. There's no castle tower, but the moat remains. It's especially popular as a cherry blossom viewing spot in spring and is bustling with festivals. From Takaoka Station, you can get there by walking past the Takaoka Daibutsu (Great Buddha). The park has a variety of attractions, including Imizu Shrine, a small but free zoo, an archery range, a gymnasium, and a museum, and I often use it for walks and runs. The last time I went, there was a sumo tournament for working adults being held at the sumo ring next to Imizu Shrine.
