Putuo Mountain is the sacred site of Guanyin Bodhisattva, renowned as the "Putuo Mountain Scenic Area." Visitors and pilgrims never miss the three grand temples—Puji, Fayu, and Huiji—along with the 33m-tall Nanhai Guanyin statue. The mountain's charming coastal scenery adds to its allure, offering delightful experiences like strolling along Qianbu Sands and admiring the reclining Buddha view over the sea. Putuo Mountain Island is located east of Zhoushan Island, with no road access—only ferry service to Putuo Mountain Pier is available. The elongated island spans approx. 7 km in length, with attractions spaced 2–10 km apart. Nearby attractions can be explored on foot, while distant ones are accessible via the island's itinerary buses departing from the pier's passenger terminal. Additionally, Foding Mountain offers cable car rides, and Luojia Mountain—a small island approx. 5 km east of Putuo Mountain—is reachable by boat (accessible exclusively from Putuo Mountain Island as part of the Putuo Mountain Scenic Area). The attractions in Putuo Mountain Scenic Area are mainly distributed across three zones. Visitors can explore all attractions within each zone together, with each zone requiring approximately half a day to visit. Travelers can plan their itinerary based on their accommodation location and arrival time on the island. Zone 1: Centered around Puji Temple, the western side of the island features attractions like the West Heaven Scenic Area. As the island's main temple dedicated to Guanyin, Puji Temple stands alongside the Duobao Pagoda, one of Putuo Mountain's three treasures. The West Heaven Scenic Area boasts numerous attractions including Pantuo Rock, Heart Character Rock, and Meifu Temple. Zone 2: In the southern area, you'll find attractions like the Nanhai Guanyin statue, Zizhu Forest, Bukenqu Guanyin Temple, and Nantian Gate. The Nanhai Guanyin statue is the island's landmark structure, while Bukenqu Guanyin Temple holds legendary tales of Putuo Mountain that you won't want to miss. Zone 3: Centered around Foding Mountain, the area features two temples: Fayu Temple and Huiji Zen Temple. The other two treasures of Mount Putuo - the Nine Dragons Caisson Ceiling and the Yangzhi Guanyin Stele - are located in Fayu Temple and Yangzhi Zen Temple adjacent to it respectively. If time permits, you can also take a boat to Luojia Mountain, which typically requires about half a day. In addition to these religious attractions, there are two bathing beaches on the eastern side of the island: Thousand-Step Sand near Fayu Temple and Hundred-Step Sand near Purple Bamboo Grove. Visitors who enjoy ocean views and water activities are welcome to visit.Zhoushan · 17.5 km from downtown

Zhujiajian Scenic Area is situated at the southeastern part of the Zhoushan Archipelago and famed for its premium sand beaches. In September this is the hosting place of Zhoushan International Sand Sculpture Festival. The island has four scenic sites, namely Beach of Black Pebbles, Pavilion of Guanyin Culture, Southern Beach, and Mountain of the Big Blue. The Eastern Beach is a great spot to watch the sunrise, while the Southern Beach is a great place to experience the hustle and bustle of a seaside resort, where one can wade in the sea water along the beach, take a stroll, or enjoy a plethora of rides on the water.Zhoushan · 19.4 km from downtown

Dongji Island is located on the east side of the Zhoushan Archipelago. It boasts rustic fishing village charm, where you can watch the sunrise, savor seafood, and enjoy sea fishing, making it ideal for a vacation with family and friends. Director Han Han's film "The Continent" was filmed here, bringing this mysterious island at the easternmost tip of the country into public view. The saying "Dongji Island" is actually a collective term, consisting of 4 inhabited islands and many uninhabited islets. Miaozihu Island, the main island, is where the local government is located. To its west is Huangxing Island, which is almost uninhabited, has no ferry service, and is rarely visited by tourists. To its east is Qingbang Island, known by locals as the "Potala Palace on the Sea" because its buildings are built into the mountains, making it ideal for viewing from a distance. Dongfushan Island is the first place in China to see the sunrise over the sea, making it a preferred spot for many to watch the sunrise.Zhoushan · 52.5 km from downtown

"Watch the seascape of Thousand Islands, see the intoxicating fog of Green Mountains; play in the golden sands of ten miles, and embrace the cliffs of the islands." Zhujiajian Daqingshan National Park is the core scenic Attraction of Zhujiajian, a national key scenic spot of Mount Putuo and a national AAAA-level scenic Attraction . With an area of 10 square kilometers, a coastline of more than 30 kilometers, and an 18-kilometer island-circling tourist avenue, it gathers a series of high-quality resources for modern coastal leisure and vacation, such as sunshine, waves, beaches, reefs, cliffs, fishing villages, and seascape of Thousand Islands, as well as the unique and scarce elements of national parks. Daqingshan National Park is famous for its unique scenic resources of "strange mountains, strange rocks, and beautiful beaches." Chisand Qiansha, also known as Qianbusha, is about 1,200 meters long and 170 meters wide. It stretches between Muling Mountain and Laitou Mountain, like a shoulder pole carrying two green mountains for years. The north and south sides are steep reefs and the waves crash against the shore. The golden sand is spread along the blue sea. Walking on it is like walking on a golden carpet. Watching the lonely sail in the distant sea and the shadows of the clouds and sky is even more refreshing. Four Seasons Flower Sea The Four Seasons Flower Sea covers a total area of more than 400 mu, and consists of four major areas: the main flower sea area, the water landscape area, the lawn leisure area, and the supporting service area. The area is equipped with recreational facilities such as boating, shouting fountains, children's playgrounds, slides, etc., as well as supporting outdoor activities such as barbecues, bonfires, and camping, so that tourists can swim, play, and rest. Lisha Beach Lisha is also known as the "West Lotus Pond Beach". It is said that monks from Mount Putuo built the West Lotus Pond here, hence the name. The beach is about 800 meters long and 170 meters wide. The beach is crescent-shaped, with a flat surface and golden sand. Whenever the east wind blows, the sand rises like fog and swirls above the beach, which is spectacular. As a seaside bathing beach, the water quality of Lisha Sea is clear and the sand is fine; Floating bridges, sailboats, motorboats and other exciting leisure projects make Daqingshan a combination of movement and stillness, which is endless fun; the supporting shower and storage service facilities make you worry-free. [Note: This is an outdoor bathing area. Due to weather factors, it is not open all year round. Please consult in advance before entering the park. ] Lisha Ecological Park Lisha Ecological Park embraces Lisha, covers an area of more than 100 mu, and has a history of thousands of years. The treetops in the forest stretch out in the direction of the sea, like sails, forming a unique landscape of "ancient sand forming forests, green trees climbing green ivy". The good ecological environment makes this place known as a "natural oxygen bar". You can experience entertainment projects such as "jungle bumper cars", "log climbing", "bamboo maze" and so on, or take a nap on the swing hammock and feel the ubiquitous negative oxygen ions. Qingsha Qingsha Beach is about 500 meters long and 150 meters wide. It faces the sea to the east and is backed by Daqing Mountain. The green mountain shadows dye the ocean, beach and villages here into a green color, hence the name. Due to the terrain, when the east wind blows, the surging waves rush towards Sha'ao continuously, and the smoke emitted is like a light gauze feather dress, dancing on the beach, thus forming the wonder of "green sand, smoke and waves". Niutou Mountain Niutou Mountain is a peak east of Daqing Mountain. It is named after its shape that resembles a bull's head reaching out to the sea to draw water. It is a cape dividing the north and south of the Attraction, so it forms a natural panoramic viewing point. Standing on Niutou Mountain, you can clearly see the "Ten Miles of Golden Sands and Five Sands in a Row" in the north, and the endless sea in the east in the south. It is the only way to the international deep-water channel known as the "Maritime Silk Road". Cat Jump The cape of the southern branch of Daqing Mountain is naturally formed and protrudes into the sea. The cliffs are mostly rugged rocks, making it an ideal spot for viewing the sea and reefs. Due to the uneven terrain, people need to jump over it when walking, which is similar to the cat jump, hence the name. Maotiao is narrow and long. Due to its prominent position, it has become the frontier of the East China Sea waves rolling up the coast. It is also the main place where the magical Qingshan Zui Mist is formed and surges up, so it has a more poetic name, Cape Smoke Waves. Blowhole The fountain hole is a masterpiece of nature. It seems that nature dug a hole in the cliff for fun. When the tide comes, it gathers calmly and then gushes out sharply. The height can be as high as 10 meters. Natural fountains are rare. The formation of the water spray wonder is related to the size of the waves and the height of the tide. If you happen to encounter the wonder of the fountain hole, it may start a day of good luck. Qingshan Peak Qingshan Peak is the main peak of Daqing Mountain, with an altitude of 378.6 meters. In the 1950s, Daqing Mountain was once stationed with island defense troops as an outpost in the East China Sea. Military facilities such as military camps, tunnels and garages are still left on Qingshan Peak. The top of the mountain has a wide view and is a viewing point for the Thousand Islands Seascape. To the east, you can see Putuo and Dongji Islands; to the south, you can see Dongtingshan Lighthouse and Yang'an Fishing Ground; to the west, there are Taohua Island and Wushamen Waterway, the main channel in and out of the East China Sea Fishing Ground; to the north, there is Shenjiamen Fishing Port, the "Fishing Capital of China". Standing on the top of the mountain, facing the sea and enjoying the wind, one's mind is suddenly open. Holding the distant mountains and swallowing the East China Sea, it is vast and boundless, with morning sun and evening shade, and a variety of scenes. Shau Kei Wan Fishing Village Shaojiwan is a natural harbor. It is located at the foot of the western foot of Daqing Mountain, facing the Wushamen waterway in and out of Yang'an Fishing Ground in the west. It is surrounded by mountains on three sides and has a flat hinterland. It is about 330 meters wide from north to south and 1,500 meters deep. It is named because its terrain resembles a rice-washing dustpan used by fishermen. This is where the seaside people of Zhujiajian Island live. Ancient ancestors sailed boats and cast nets, plowed the sea and fished here, gradually forming the first natural fishing village of Zhujiajian. Shaojiwan is currently the most well-preserved original ecological fishing village in the coastal area of eastern Zhejiang. Attraction entertainment projects Motorboat: Ride on the vast ocean and enjoy the Unlimited sea and sky scenery Floating bridge on the sea: Who says that "light steps on water" only exist in martial arts legends? Who says that landlubbers can only sigh at the sea? The Daqingshan Floating Bridge on the sea allows you, even if you can't swim, to chase the waves and be a brave man who challenges the sea. Jungle Bumper Car: Colorful bumper cars shuttle through the jungle, passing by familiar or unfamiliar people, a light bump brings Unlimited joy, the jungle bumper car takes you to relive those forgotten childhood and years Real-life CS: Put on camouflage, put on a helmet, and raise an assault rifle. The Luojia Mountain stands on the southeast side of thePutuoshan Main Island. When you observe the island from the east side coast you will see that Luojiashan looks like a big Buddha that is lying on the surface of the sea. This has earned it the reputation of being called the "reclining Buddha on the sea". While exploring the mountain you can also visit the Yuantong Temple, Dajue Temple, Dabei Temple, Jialan Temple, Maying Tower, and Wubiao Hanta. Some other places you can visit aside from the many temples are the Longquan Ancient Well, Xiangiao, and the Crystal Palace. On the northeastern hill there is a lighthouse that is known as the "Light of Luojiashan" During ancient times the lighthouse was only used as a skylight station and to guide the seagoing ships during the night. Today it has been converted to the Luojiashan International Lighthouse and is still used to help guide the direction of ships.Zhoushan · 23.4 km from downtown

Sunrise Sightseeing in Zhoushan

5.7
The sunrise in Zhoushan is a romantic feast of mountains, sea and morning light. When the night fades, the vast East China Sea and the long archipelago have not yet awakened, but the horizon has already glowed, outlining the contours of the sea and the islands. In Zhoushan, watching the sunrise is full of ritual. Before dawn, climb to a high ground with a wide view and wait quietly. At first, the skyline is dyed with light pink and orange, and then the clouds seem to be ignited, and golden light penetrates the sea of clouds and pours down. In an instant, the red sun breaks through the clouds and jumps out of the sea, and the thousands of feet of light are sprinkled on the sparkling sea. The islands in the distance are covered with golden gauze, and the silhouettes of fishing boats are looming in the morning light. The sea breeze gently caresses your face, the sound of the waves and the breath of dawn interweave, and the light and shadow in front of you change rapidly. From the white of the fish belly to the rosy clouds, and then to the sun hanging high, every moment is breathtaking. The sunrise in Zhoushan perfectly combines the magnificence and tranquility of nature, bringing visitors a shocking visual and sensory enjoyment.China · Daishan

The architectural design is unique and stylish, while the interior decoration and facilities are luxurious, elegant, and grand—truly breathtaking. The external landscape and environment are also stunning. The entire visit requires about two hours and is packed with content, including a movie and a light show, which are very entertaining. I also acquired many exquisite Buddhist items to take home for protection and good fortune. It's definitely worth a visit, and I highly recommend checking it out when you go to Putuoshan.

We arrived at Dongji Island without any prior planning. Although tickets were indeed scarce during the holidays, we managed to get there smoothly with the help of the guesthouse owner. Since we weren't planning ahead, we were a bit lost, but the guesthouse owner and the young man who helped us were crucial. We watched the sunrise and sunset and visited the famous lighthouse (most importantly, it's only about a 15-minute walk from the guesthouse location to the lighthouse), completely avoiding the need for the sightseeing bus, saving us only 80 yuan round trip. The guesthouse has an outdoor balcony with fantastic sunset views and an exceptionally bright sunrise. Service: I found it very attentive, with bag-carrying service, travel guides, and various tips to avoid tourist pitfalls – practically perfect. Environment: Away from the hustle and bustle, but not far from the attractions, making it quiet and comfortable to sleep at night. Value for Money: Prices are definitely higher during holidays, but it's still quite good. The location is convenient for visiting attractions, but it's unrealistic to expect to walk at all. Overall: A very affordable guesthouse, but if you have higher expectations, it depends entirely on your personal preferences.

This weekend, I invited my friends to Daqingshan Mountain in Zhujiajian, Zhoushan, to experience the romance of mountains and sea all at once. Driving along the winding mountain road, we were greeted by lush green mountains on one side and the vast blue sea on the other. The beach at the foot of the mountain was wide and soft, perfect for strolling and wading. From the higher vantage point, the bay meandered, and the mountains and sea merged seamlessly. Patches of purple verbena swayed in the breeze along the roadside, and the distant mountains shrouded in mist looked like a dream. We stopped at 55 ROAD COFFEE along the way, enjoying the sea breeze, watching the clouds drift by, and sipping a coffee – pure bliss! Driving along the coast, the mountains and the sea met head-on, and the scenery along the way was truly healing.

The scenery is beautiful. The sand and stones of Wushitang, the beach of Nanshan, and the mountains of Baishan are all very interesting. The "One Line Sky" in Baishan is very unique and really narrow. If you were any heavier, you really wouldn't have been able to climb it. The only downside is that it's rainy. It would be perfect on a sunny day. The combined ticket price is very reasonable.

Definitely worth a visit! 👌🏻 Especially suitable for family trips; both adults and children will have a great time. - At first, the ticket price might seem a bit high, but you'll understand once you've been there! The animal conservation and daily maintenance, along with the shows and animal viewing, make it truly worth the ticket price. 💰 - The underwater world is truly therapeutic. There are all sorts of marine life, some beautiful and some interesting. It's not only fun but also educational. - The park has three floors, so you can spend quite a while exploring. There are also different shows at different times, so it's good to check beforehand to plan your trip. - Overall, the experience can be summed up in one word: "Fantastic!" 👍🏻
