Nanyue King Museum-The Site of King's Tomb

The Museum of the Nanyue King (Royal Tomb Exhibition Area) was originally the Museum of the Western Han Dynasty Nanyue King, which opened in 1988. After the two museums merged to form the Museum of the Nanyue King in 2021, this area became the exhibition area themed around the royal tomb. It was built around the original site of the tomb of Zhao Mo, the second king of the Nanyue Kingdom of the Western Han Dynasty. This royal tomb was discovered in 1983 during construction on Xianggang Mountain on the west side of Yuexiu Mountain. It was carved into the mountain and buried deep inside the mountain. The tomb is shaped like the Chinese character "士" (shi), and is divided into seven burial chambers according to the "front court and rear palace" layout. It has been undisturbed by tomb robbers for more than two thousand years and is well preserved. The entire exhibition area consists of three parts: the ancient tomb protection area, the comprehensive exhibition building, and the main exhibition building. The original site of the tomb is preserved within the ancient tomb protection area. You can enter the original tomb site: the upper walkway offers an overhead view of the stone chamber structure. To descend to the lower level for a closer look, advance booking is usually required, with limited slots available. Even if you can't secure a spot, it won't diminish your experience of this mountain-carved royal mausoleum. Among the unearthed artifacts, the jade burial suit stands out as the signature piece. Composed of over 2,000 jade pieces threaded together with silk, it measures more than 1.7 m in length and is one of the earliest and most complete jade suits discovered in Chinese archaeology. The dragon-knobbed gold seal inscribed "Seal of Emperor Wen" found near the tomb owner's chest directly confirmed his identity. The main exhibition, "Treasures of the Nanyue Kingdom: Artifacts Unearthed from the Nanyue King Museum-The Site of King's Tomb of the Western Han Dynasty," is divided into five sections: the gold seal of Emperor Wen, treasures from the main chamber, sacrificial victims, imperial storage, and ritual bronzes. Beyond the jade suit and gold seal, you can also see the rhino horn-shaped jade cup carved from a single piece of green jade (now listed among China's prohibited overseas exhibition relics), the high-stemmed cup combining jade, gold, silver, bronze, and wood materials, as well as over ten sets of jade pendants and dozens of jade sword ornaments from the Han dynasty. The double-ring jade pendant with openwork dragon and phoenix designs was found covering the tomb owner's right eye. Its inner ring features an openwork swimming dragon, while the outer ring depicts a phoenix—this very motif became the source of the museum's emblem. The visit usually follows the order of the comprehensive exhibition building, the ancient tomb protection area, and the main exhibition building. The comprehensive exhibition building also features a special exhibition titled "Ceramic pillows donated by Mr. and Mrs. Yang Yongde," where the diverse shapes and glazes of porcelain pillows from various dynasties are easily overlooked but worth taking a few minutes to appreciate. The tomb also contains over ten sacrificial burials, corresponding to the "Sacrificial burials in the tomb" unit, offering a direct insight into the unique burial customs of the Nanyue Kingdom. If you're interested in Han Dynasty jade artifacts or the history of the Nanyue Kingdom, it's recommended to hold two to three hours for a thorough exploration.China · Guangzhou

Overall it's pretty good, the scenery is also okay, the main problem is that the guide map is not detailed enough, the signboards are not clear, people walk in vain, in addition, there is a section of mountain road without guardrails, the cordon pulled by the scenic area has fallen to the ground, it is quite dangerous, and needs to be improved.

Back at Hero Island, there were new things to do! The little one's world was brightened up! A staff member knelt down to talk to her and gave her a flashcard; she was ecstatic all day. She wasn't tall enough for the penguin roller coaster, so the staff gently recommended a gentler ride on the carousel and even played some interactive games with her. The three of us rode in one capsule at the Sea Monster Tower, and when we reached the top, my daughter pointed into the distance and said, "There are otters over there!" We bought a Pink Little Qi doll at the Pink Little Qi shop, and she wears pink clothes just like her. The whole area was clean and bright; even the ice cream that a child spilled was immediately cleaned up. The service truly understands families with children.

We had a fantastic day at Chimelong Safari Park! The park is beautiful, with amazing scenery and a huge variety of animals. It's enormous, so I strongly recommend arriving early to have enough time to explore everything without rushing. We expected to see more giant pandas, but there were only two, although they were incredibly cute! We also hoped to see red pandas, which were listed as being at the park, but unfortunately, there were none. The animal show was excellent and entertaining, even though it was entirely in Chinese. We also hired a wonderful guide who was friendly, helpful and made a real effort to ensure we enjoyed our visit. We appreciated her efforts so much that we gave her an extra tip, even though she initially refused it.Overall, a great experience and well worth visiting in Guangzhou. Just arrive early and check which animals are available to see before your visit!

We entered from the South Gate. Although there were many people, it wasn't chaotic at all. The signs were very clear, and the staff were very responsible. It was a very enjoyable trip for the kids; Guangzhou is beautiful and delicious. It was our first time seeing a rhinoceros and our first time riding a cable car—a great experience!

Window of the World is a old theme park but it is definitely worth visiting for tourists who have been to many places around the world or who have seen many worldly sites through media or books. There are also ample food choices within the place. There are several rides too. Also, forget to visit Melania town either before or after to conclude your visit. One can spend a fully day, including the night too if you have the energy. Really great for family visit

The Nanyue King Museum's Royal Tomb Exhibition Area is a rare original site of a Han Dynasty royal tomb, and the ancient relics of the Nanyue Kingdom, over two thousand years old, are remarkably well-preserved. I leisurely explored it on my own for three hours. The tomb's structure was breathtaking, and the unearthed jade and bronze artifacts were exquisitely crafted, providing a direct understanding of the early history of Lingnan. The venue is quiet and comfortable, the guided tours are comprehensive, and it offers excellent value for money. It's definitely worth a visit when in Guangzhou.

The Pearl River Cruise was pretty good. Easy to buy tickets off Trip; buy the tickets, get a QR code within seconds, scan QR code at pier - easy entry. Ship was pretty good. Booked 3rd level seats for the unobstructed views and was pretty surprised that I was booking a table on the 3rd level. That was great as we could sit down if we wanted to. The weather was perfect. No rain, clear skies, a bit of a breeze. It is a great family activity and I would highly recommend it to everyone.
