First Resort Maihama — traveler post in Urayasu

First Resort Maihama

The appeal of Tokyo Bay Maihama Hotel First Resort lies in its high level of convenience, typical of an official hotel, and its exceptional entertainment value, allowing guests to continue enjoying the park's atmosphere. 1. Concept Rooms to Continue the Dream The guest rooms offer a variety of playful designs, including a castle style inspired by a fairy tale castle, a Western style themed after the Wild West, and rooms that make you feel like a crew member on a large cruise ship. More than just a place to sleep, the excitement continues even after returning to your room, as if you were still on an attraction. Many concept rooms also feature bathrooms with separate washing areas, a great feature for families with children. 2. Unrivaled Access A free shuttle bus provides direct access to Disneyland, taking only about 5 minutes. There's no need to transfer to the monorail (Disney Resort Line), making it easy to return to the hotel even with small children or after a tiring day at the park. Furthermore, free shuttle buses to JR Maihama Station and the nearest Bayside Station run regularly, allowing for easy travel. 3. Exceptional Value for Money Among Official Hotels Among the many official hotels, this one offers a wide variety of plans at relatively reasonable prices. It also boasts a good selection of family-friendly rooms that can accommodate 4-5 people, making it ideal for families and groups who want to keep their budget down but don't want to compromise on the luxury and perks of an official hotel.

🎄 Enjoy Christmas with Mickey and friends! DisneySea Harbor Greeting 🎅 — traveler post in Urayasu

🎄 Enjoy Christmas with Mickey and friends! DisneySea Harbor Greeting 🎅

One of the highlights of the Christmas season at Tokyo DisneySea is the "Disney Christmas Greeting" held at Mediterranean Harbor! 🎄✨ Mickey and friends, dressed in Christmas costumes, appear on a boat and greet guests to the tune of Christmas songs! I watched it about six times in 2025! 🥰 This time, I'll introduce my favorite viewing spots and the unique charm of the Christmas season! 🎅 Santa Claus and Mickey and Friends Appear! Mickey and friends, along with Santa Claus, appear on a boat decorated with Christmas ornaments! The charm of this greeting is being able to meet the characters in a Christmassy atmosphere! 🎁 As the boat sails across the harbor, you really feel like Christmas has arrived! Pay attention to Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, and my beloved Duffy and ShellieMay! 🐻💕 🎶 Lots of Christmas Songs Play! What I love most is the abundance of Christmas songs! Enjoying the characters while listening to bright and cheerful Christmas songs is a delightful highlight! 🎄 Combined with the overall Christmas atmosphere of the park, it's a truly uplifting experience! This is an entertainment you definitely want to enjoy if you visit Tokyo DisneySea during the Christmas season! ✨ 📍 My favorite viewing spot is Mickey Square! My favorite viewing spot is Mickey Square! Officially called "Piazza Topolino," it's a square along Mediterranean Harbor. You can enjoy the Christmas greetings while watching the ships sailing in the harbor and the characters. 🎅 One of the charms is that the view changes depending on where you watch the show. Find your favorite spot and create some wonderful Christmas memories! 📸 🎄 Enjoy the Christmas spirit even in a short time! This greeting is approximately a 15-minute performance. Perfect for those who want to enjoy the Christmas show while also enjoying attractions and meals in the park! I've seen it about six times, and I love enjoying the Christmas songs and seeing the characters 🥰 Please do experience the special atmosphere unique to the Christmas season. 🎁 Summary Tokyo DisneySea's "Disney Christmas Greeting" is a seasonal entertainment where you can enjoy Christmas music and characters! Queen of Hearts Banquet Hall: What to Eat and What’s the Atmosphere Like? — traveler post in Urayasu

Queen of Hearts Banquet Hall: What to Eat and What’s the Atmosphere Like?

Reviewing the Queen of Hearts Banquet Hall ❤️♠️—a stunning Wonderland-themed restaurant in Tokyo Disneyland. The interior is absolutely gorgeous, making you feel as if you’ve truly stepped into the Queen of Hearts’ castle. Located in Fantasyland, the decor is fully decked out with checkered floors, card soldiers, heart-shaped chairs, and intricate details that offer beautiful photo ops at every turn. The restaurant operates on a "Buffeteria" service model: you pick up a tray, choose your food from the counters, pay, and then a staff member will escort you to your table. The menu features main courses, desserts, and Wonderland-themed drinks. Personally, I think the biggest highlight is the atmosphere, which is executed perfectly. If you love Alice in Wonderland or are looking for a spot to relax during your Disneyland trip, this place is definitely worth a visit! ❤️✨ 📍 Queen of Hearts Banquet Hall 📍 Fantasyland, Tokyo Disneyland

Japan First-Timer Theme-Park Planner: Tokyo Disney Resort, Universal Studios Japan—or Both? — traveler post in Urayasu

Japan First-Timer Theme-Park Planner: Tokyo Disney Resort, Universal Studios Japan—or Both?

Tokyo Disney Resort or Universal Studios Japan — which one deserves a place in your first Japan trip? 🎢✨ The useful question is not “Which park is better?” It is which park fits your route, available time, travel pace and priorities better. If your Japan itinerary is already tight, trying to fit both can easily turn theme parks into the centre of the trip rather than one part of it. 🏰 Choose Tokyo Disney Resort if… You value atmosphere, immersion and the overall resort experience as much as the rides themselves. It also fits naturally into a Tokyo-heavy itinerary and can work especially well for families or groups with different energy levels. 🎢 Choose Universal Studios Japan if… You want a faster, louder and more ride-focused park day. If Osaka or the wider Kansai region already anchors your route, Universal is usually the easier park to integrate without reshaping the rest of the trip. 🎟️ Choose both if… Theme parks are genuinely one of the headline reasons for visiting Japan. You are already planning to spend meaningful time in both Tokyo and Osaka, and you are comfortable giving several full days of the trip to the parks. The biggest trade-off with doing both is not simply ticket cost. It is also time. Two park days mean two fewer days available for Tokyo neighbourhoods, Kyoto, Osaka, day trips or simply travelling at a slower pace. Add the walking, queues and general park fatigue, and the commitment becomes larger than it first appears. For many first-time visitors, one park is enough. A simple way to decide: Tokyo-heavy trip → Disney is usually the more natural fit. Osaka/Kansai-heavy trip → Universal is usually the more natural fit. Theme parks are a major trip priority → consider both. And if you are travelling with children or a mixed-energy group, look beyond the brand name. Think about how your group actually likes to spend a full day. Disney: softer, slower, more atmosphere-led. Universal: louder, faster, more thrill-led. Both: the widest experience, but also the biggest commitment. There is no automatic winner. For a first Japan trip, the better choice is the one that fits your route, time and energy without taking more away from the rest of Japan than you are happy to give. Pick the park that fits your Japan trip — not the park you feel you are supposed to choose. #Japan #JapanTravel #JapanTrip #TokyoDisneyResort #UniversalStudiosJapann #Tokyo #Osaka #JapanItinerary #JapanTravelTips #ThemePark #FamilyTravel #FirstTimeJapan #JnATravelMoments

🇯🇵 I would not book a Japan hotel by price first. — traveler post in Urayasu

🇯🇵 I would not book a Japan hotel by price first.

That sounds strange until you realize what usually wastes the most time in Japan: not the hotel room, but the movement around it. A cheaper hotel can become expensive if it adds longer transfers, awkward luggage movement, late-night walking stress or daily backtracking. My ExploreWithJC hotel rule: Book by route first. Then compare price. Then decide what comfort is worth paying for. Where first-timers usually go wrong: 1. Tokyo: staying far from the line you actually need Tokyo has many good areas, but the “best” area depends on your itinerary. If most of your days are west Tokyo, east Tokyo, Disney, airport transfers or shopping-heavy, the right base changes. 2. Kyoto: choosing a base that fights your sightseeing Kyoto rewards area grouping. If your hotel is far from your main temple or evening area, the day can feel slower than expected. 3. Osaka: choosing nightlife without arrival logic Namba can be great for food energy. Umeda can be easier for arrivals and transport. The better choice depends on when you arrive and how much luggage you have. 4. Families and first-timers need less friction For families, late arrivals or heavy luggage, the easier station connection may matter more than a slightly nicer room. 5. Premium-value upgrade If I had to upgrade one thing, I would usually upgrade location before room size. A smaller room in the right area can feel better than a bigger room that costs you time every day. Original ExploreWithJC judgement: For Japan, hotel location is not just comfort. It is a daily time-saving tool. Save this before booking your Japan hotel. Which city is hardest for you to choose a hotel in: Tokyo, Kyoto or Osaka? What do you need to know before visiting Tokyo Disneyland?

 — traveler post in Urayasu

What do you need to know before visiting Tokyo Disneyland? Tokyo has not just one Disneyland, but two: the classic one with a castle and the nautical-themed DisneySea. We managed to visit both, so here are some tips: 1. Tickets to both Disneylands can be purchased using the Trip.com app. We used it to book our accommodations and all the tours (except for the Hiroshima Peace Museum). The app accepts Russian cards. 2. Be sure to download the Disney Resort app. You can upload QR codes there, reserve fast-track slots there, and use the map to navigate. The app also displays the wait time. 3. There's no point in arriving an hour before opening. Trust me: even if you arrive at 7 a.m., there will already be a huge crowd at the entrance. You'll just be waiting in line for an extra hour—you can't avoid it anyway. 😄 The official opening is at 9:00 AM, but visitors are admitted as early as 8:30 AM. And as soon as this crowd is let in, people rush to the most popular rides. By 9:00 AM, the wait for the Frozen ride was already 120 minutes. It makes sense to arrive by 8:30 AM to get through the turnstiles and snag your coveted slot. 4. If you want to enter the park before everyone else, book a hotel at the park—you'll get a 15-minute head start. 5. Choose the rides you want to try first in advance. As soon as you enter, head straight to them. You'll have time to explore the grounds and take photos. 6. You'll only be able to grab a snack at DisneySea because the restaurants only accept foreign cards. If you don't have a foreign card, you'll be eating sandwiches outside. 😄 You can pay with cash at the regular Disneyland without any problems. 7. DisneySea opened relatively recently, so the lines there are much longer than at the regular Disneyland. But the rides there are also more extreme (the Pterodactyl Flight at Universal can't be beat). At Disneyland, you'll feel more nostalgic for childhood cartoons: there are many rides that allow you to watch scenes from cartoons or movies without the extreme thrills. 8. You can buy a fast pass. The cost is from 1,500 to 2,500 yen (payment by foreign card only). 9. Be prepared for long lines. We were there on weekdays, but the lines reached 200 minutes. By the end, you wonder if it's worth it. 😅 At DisneySea, we recommend visiting: · Peter Pan's Never Land Adventure; · Rapunzel's Forest (oh, those lanterns!); · Anna and Elsa's Frozen Journey (we didn't get to go, but try your luck); · Indiana Jones Adventure; · Soaring: Fantastic Flight; · Tower of Terror (free fall); · Journey to the Center of the Earth (free fall + gorgeous scenery). At Classic Disneyland: · Pirates of the Caribbean; · Haunted Mansion (haunted house); · Pooh's Hunny Hunt (great for kids); · Monsters, Inc. Ride & Go Seek! (Monsters, Inc.). #tokyo #disneyland #disneysea

Yes, it gets extremely crowded (especially weekends, holidays, and peak midday hours), but that energy is part of its charm for many. Go early or late and the experience becomes almost serene.
