The first stop of my weekend trip to Hebei: The underrated Hebei Museum

To be honest, I really didn't have any impression of the Hebei Museum before [Facepalm], until I saw an introduction by an expert and realized just how many treasures are housed there. That's why it was the first stop on my trip to Hebei. The Hebei Museum is quite large, with South and North sections. If you're short on time, focus on the South section. Head straight to the second floor upon entering, as most of the national treasures are concentrated there. 📍The Might of the Warring States Period · The Ancient Zhongshan State (3 must-see items) ① Bronze Tripod with Iron Feet of King Cuo of Zhongshan (near the entrance, the most important of the three Zhongshan artifacts) ② Bronze Base with Four Dragons and Four Phoenixes in Gold and Silver Inlay (the most famous treasure of the Zhongshan State, the pinnacle of craftsmanship) ③ Bronze Screen Base with Tiger Devouring Deer in Gold and Silver Inlay (a tiger sculpture with incredible sense of motion) 📍Cross the central corridor → East Exhibition Hall | The Swan Song of the Great Han Dynasty · The Han Tombs at Mancheng (3 other must-see items) ④ Jade Burial Suit with Gold Thread of Liu Sheng (center stage of the exhibition hall, a must-see) ⑤ Changxin Palace Lamp (gilded bronze lamp of a palace maid, the calling card of the Hebei Museum) ⑥ Bronze Boshan Incense Burner with Gold Inlay (an ethereal Han Dynasty incense burner) 📍After finishing the second floor, it will take about an hour and a half. If you have time, visit the third and first floors. If you add the North section, you'll probably walk until your legs give out [Cry]. I suggest planning ahead and choosing based on your personal interests. ✅Transportation is very convenient. Take Metro Line 1 and exit at Exit B to reach the museum square. There are many pigeons on the square, creating a harmonious and happy scene under the sunset.
