Although there aren't many important tourist attractions, the hotel is located next to Lake Molenvijver and is just across the street from a shopping center. Genk is one of the favorite teams of the Belgians). 📌Location/Transportation Since it's not a tourist attraction, the price of the accommodation is very affordable. At the same time, it's convenient to get there. Take bus number 45 from Hasselt, just one transfer (about 40 minutes). The bus stop is only 240 meters away from the hotel. From the hotel, if you take the same bus to the end of the line, you will arrive in Maasmechelen, which has a large shopping outlet. Of course, the bus station is in front of the outlet. One wall is made of glass, revealing the peaceful lake view in the morning. Some birds and swans fly around, some swim in the water, the most beautiful sight. 🍳Breakfast The breakfast buffet here is divided into different lines as follows: ➡️ Hot dishes - There will be scrambled eggs, which we think are a bit dry and bland. The fried bacon here is okay. There are sausages that we think are a bit too greasy... I miss Maggi and turkey sauce the most. ➡️ Cold cuts - This place uses good quality ingredients. In addition to the usual variety of ham, it is also the only hotel on this trip that includes turkey in breakfast. ➡️ Smoked Fish - As far as I can see, there is smoked salmon and other white fish. Bread - I like their bread texture. It is not too hard or dry, but the texture is still firm, soft and chewy like Western bread. If you are lucky enough to arrive when they are freshly baked, it will be warm and delicious. ➡️ Cheese – This is the first place I saw serving blue cheese early in the morning. The smell is really strong, as expected from blue cheese. For me, I can eat it but I don’t particularly like it. However, some people may not like it. There are also regular sliced ​​cheeses. If I remember correctly, there is also Brie. ➡️ Yogurt + Fruit Salad – This is the standard taste. ➡️ Drinks – I must say that the drink line here is very diverse. Cold drinks include orange juice, apple juice, fresh milk, chocolate milk (almost every hotel in Belgium has this, not to lose its reputation as the city of chocolate). As for hot drinks, you can choose from the vending machine. There are black coffee, espresso, café latte, cappuccino and of course hot chocolate. … This is considered a very pleasant breakfast. It is suitable for those who plan to travel in a relaxed way, spend time having breakfast comfortably while enjoying the lake view, or stay in a city that is just passing through.
